Chapter 8

Serena's POV

I forced my way past Alex, opening the door. When I walked in, I saw papers laid out on the floor with large letters in different fonts.

"Stay away from Shawn." I read, quietly.

I turned back to Alex. She looked afraid. "Why didn't you tell me about this?" I asked.

She shrugged, "I guess I just didn't want y'all to worry about it. It's just some jealous fan," she looked down, "I didn't think they would go this far."

"Whoever this is, we'll find them and stop this. It is not okay to send death threats to anyone!" I replied.

She nodded. "You're not telling the other girls, are you?"

I shook my head. She showed a small smile and proceeded to pick up the papers and throw them away. We headed back to the elevator.

"Just please try to ignore this and act normal around Shawn?" I pleaded.

She nodded, smiling slightly. "So," she started, "you and Cameron?"

I blushed. "Yeah," I pushed the elevator button, "he's pretty great. But I'm not sure if he's into me. He just seems so close to some of his fans. What if I'm just one of them?"

"I bet you're not. You're way cooler than those other girls. I can honestly say I've never met anyone like you. And I think Cameron can agree." She replied.

We stepped off of the elevator and started toward the restaurant. "I can talk to him if you'd like." She added.

"No, that's fine." I replied, thinking maybe it could be a good idea.

"Too late. I'll talk to him later." She said, winking and walking to our table.

We sat down and continued eating dinner. I looked over to Alex and Shawn, acting normally.

We had all decided to go to the pool to hang out. After sitting down at the edge of the pool, I noticed Alex and Cameron had gone missing. I rolled my eyes, hoping she wouldn't say anything too embarrassing.

Alex's POV

"Alright, it's settled! We're going to the pool." Annalise stated, standing up.

Everyone else stood up, walking outside. I grabbed Cameron's wrist and pulled him into a hallway.

"Can I help you?" He asked, laughing slightly.

"So," I started, raising an eyebrow, "you and Serena?"

He blushed. "What about it?"

"Do you like her? Do you think she's hot? You wanna marry her, right? It's pretty obvious." I stated, smirking.

He laughed, looking down. "Yes, I like her. She cute and funny and sweet and just amazing."

"Well you better tell her that! She thinks you just like her as a really cool fan." I replied.

He looked up. "That's not good. Guess I gotta go fix that." He said as he started walking away, "thanks!"

I followed behind, proud of my achievement.

Serena's POV

After a few minutes, Cameron walked outside, followed by Alex. To my surprise, he walked directly to me, took my hand, and led me over to a large tree.

"Serena, I need to tell you something," he started before I could even say anything, "I want you to know that I like you. Like, a lot. You're pretty freaking amazing and nobody even comes close to being as beautiful as you are."

I looked down and we were holding hands. When I looked back up, he was studying my face.

"Alex told me you liked me. I don't know. Maybe it was wrong." He dropped his hands, running one of them through his hair, "Just forget I said anything. I'm sorry, I just-"

I cut him off as my lips met his. Everything else stopped and, in just that moment, we were the only two in existence; in perfect, blissful existence.
