Chapter 8; Blacking out

Note: Kimber's back on Earth.

Since the library prove to be a waste of time, Mason, Barkly, Niemph and I went back to Earth. Barkly and I begin to get ready for school. I chose a butterfly skirt with a green shirt to match. Barkly chose something similar, a butterfly shirt and a blue jeans with a matching design.

My mark keeps going on and off but I found a way to hide it. I wrapped a price of old cloth that was a faded pink. It was my turn to wake the boys, so I walked over to the boys room.

Knock knock, I thought as I did the action. I did it three more times but like always there is no reply. I begin to become a annoy, so I open the door.

"Mason, Leo, Niemph?" I called out as I peered into the dark room. I flicker the lights on but the light must be broken because nothing seems to be working today. Funny, the hallway light works. "This is not funny!" I yelled into the pitch darkness. Even with my aided night vision from Tigris, I couldn't see nothing but silhouettes. Barkly quickly came up behind me, she startled me by tapping my shoulder.

Barkly usher me to go into the boys room, so I did. It was quiet, too quiet.

"BOO!" Somebody yelled. I grabbed the person and shoved him to the ground with pure instinct. "Let go" The person scream as he struggle beneath my tiger like hold.

In unison two people came from the closet. "Kim, it's alright." The lights came back on and I saw that my cousin Niemph was in my hold.

"Why!" I growled. I felt like I only could say was 'Why?' "Why" I repeated.

Something inside of me was taking control and last thing I remember was Niemph saying,

"It was a prank" Niemph said trying to sound innocent then I slipped into the darkness.

It happen all too fast, first Kimber was fine and then her eye turned black. I watch as she stumble and then I closed my eyes, not wanting to watch myself being useless.

"It was a prank!" I screamed at Kimber as she ram into me. Kimber had me pinned against the wall. I put my hands up to protect my face but it did little good as Kimber kicked, punch and kicked again at my stomach.

I try to moved closer to the ground but Kimber's feet and hands kept coming and I knew if I moved now, the kicks will be at my head.

"Kim!" Mason, Leo and finally Barkly said. I felt Mason and Leo's hands on my shoulder. Mason tried to force his way in between me and Kimber.

"Kim! Kim listen to me!" Barkly said trying to hold Kimber back but whoever or whatever had a hold on Kimber didn't allow Kimber to stop. "Kimber snapped out of it!" I heard skin against skin and I guess that Barkly slap Kimber in the face.

When I felt Kimber prense removed, I finally got the courage to open my eyes, I noticed everyone but Kimber had scratches and bruises. Kimber was lying on the floor. As my eyes adjusted to the dim light, I looked around to see my room a mess and saw that Tigris and Canis on top of her. Even though Tigris wasn't fully grown yet, the tiger's weight plus the full grown wolf kept Kimber down but that didn't stop Kimber from thrashing around.

"What-What happen?" I cough, trying to recover, I place my hands on my knees.

Leo startled me as he said " Sometimes when Kimber gets to stun or surprise, she slips into what they call a Trainer blackout." I looked at him confused and once he noticed Mason pick up where Leo left off.

"It's kind of instinct overload. All Tamers can suffer from this but since Kimber has part Trainer DNA. She gets the worst of it." Mason explain.

Since my lamp was broken a new light from the ceiling was turned on and for the first time I see what the Trainer blackout was capable of Mason's faced was nearly covered in blood, Barkly had large cut on her arm and Leo was limping.

"What is going-" I turned around and see my mother, Sophie. Her eyes first went to Kimber, Mason, Barkly, Leo and then me. Her tan faced and violet eyes only held fear. "Kakshi! Kakshi get up here!" She called after my father.

I heard my father footsteps as my mom made her way to me and the others. When Kakshi came into the room, he in shocked but he moved to Kimber and gesture for Tigris and Canis to get up. Canis obey once Mason nodded toward him but Tigris was a little hesitant.

He pick Kimber, now had got limp, body up and carry her to her room. Barkly followed closely behind.

*Later*

I must've been in a daze because I woke up in my bed and everything that was in Kimber's wrath was either remove, fix or put back. Rocky came into my room soon after my room was back in order. Her deep brown eyes stared at me.

Something took my focus away from Rocky as I heard voices behind my closed door, so I step quickly to my door and kneel down to listen.

"Lee, you don't understand. She attack the others," My mom said. I believe she was talking to my Uncle Lee, who by the way is Mason and Kimber's father.

"But Niemph and the boys did pranked her." My father said defending Kimber.

"Kimber is young, so even she doesn't have full control of her powers. Even I don't have full control." Uncle Lee said while mom and dad both gasp.

My position was starting to get uncomfortable as I squat near the light brown wooden door. I stain my ears to listen and closed my eyes to focus in on the words they were saying. Strange this time they're whispering.

"Lee, do think Niemph would get this curse." Sophie said in a concerned tone.

A Curse! I thought ruefully. How could they think that? I always saw them as gifts.

There was a pause. "Yes" My uncle said.

"What, Why?" Father said now sounding concerned. "After all these years, why now?"

"Because even full blood takes some time. Kimber and Mason couldn't summoned a mere spark of flame before they were four." My Uncle whispered but then I leaned to hard on the door and fell as the door open.

The adults all looked down at me as I kept my gazed at their feet. I felt my uncle's blazing gaze on my head, surely his face would show disgust.

Note; Lee, Uncle of Niemph and father of Kimber and Mason is a Trainer who turned into a Tamer. He stills have problems with his powers from time to time. Next Chapter coming soon.
