Chapter 5; School

Note; Kimber's mark evolves into a fancy side ways T and Mason's mark evolves into a T that looks like cloud with a tornado beneath it. P.S. Kimber's mark is on her right wrist and Mason's, his left.

(Barkly's POV)

I was asleep on the light blue flooring of my bedroom. I grew up in a cave, so the softness of the bed just doesn't feel right to me.

Kimbers been trying to wake me up for the past hour, but I really don't want to get up.

"Barkly! Wake up!" Kimber yelled into my ear. I heard her footsteps leave the room.

'More peace and quiet.' I thought then SPLASH! I jolted up from my makeshift bed of pillows and blankets on the floor. I was soaking wet and so was the floor.

I looked around to find Kimber had left the room, a bucket was lying at the edge of my bed. A small puddle of water was left inside the brown bucket. I bared my teeth and raced downstairs only to find Kimber's aunt and Uncle, Sophie and Kakshi, Niemph, Leo and Mason at the dinner table. The boys and Kimber try to hide a soft giggle, but Mason couldn't hold it in.

"Mwa-Ha Ha ha!" Mason laughed, rocking his chair back and forth nearly falling to the hard light tan tile floor. "Kimber is that you're way of waking people up?"

"Well I tried to warn her." Kimber snickered. I continue to give them the stink eye.

"Morning Barkly~" Sophie sang to me as I sat down next to Niemph, Kimber's "human" cousin. Sophie place light brown circles in front on me.

"What is this?" I said as I pick at it with some poking thingy they called a fork.

"Pancakes!" Yelled Niemph, smiling ear to ear.

"What is a pancake?" Me and Leo questioned in unison. Kimber and Mason just ate it. They must have had it before.

"Well it's made out of flour, milk, and eggs. You've never had one before?" Niemph asked as Kakshi and Sophie stared at Leo and I.

I tried the circle and it was surprising tasty. After we ate breakfast, we left to go get ready for school while Sophie cleaned up the table. I just followed Kimber.

Kimber went to her closet and I went to mine. It was empty unlike Kim's who was full of clothes. I went over to her closet and leaned over her shoulder to get a better look. Kimber noticed me hovering and moved over to let me see. The clothes were in many colors, like the rainbow. Kimber nodded and did a gestured with her hands, a sign of allowing me to wear her clothes.

I picked out blue jeans, a dark blue fedora and a green T-shirt with a wolf on it. Kimber picked out blue jeans as well, a yellow bracelet, and a blue shirt that says Hello. Kimber released Tigris and Falco from her marking, the cub and bird stared at Kimber with pitiful eyes.

"I wish I could have a spirit animal." I said out loud.

"Well it only happens when you've bonded to an animal. You'll know when you have bonded because your mark will glow." Kimber paused. Her face told me she was thinking. "Niemph told me that they sell animals here from a place known as a pet-store. We can asked him if he can take us after school."

"Really, maybe I can get a wild canine like Mason!" I said excitedly then I noticed Kimber staring at me. "What?"

"They don't sell wild creatures but they have dogs." Kimber said as she gave me a hug.

At School: (Kimber's POV)

The school building was made of red bricks. It seemed to be longer in length than it was in height. The building was lined with windows on all sides, four glass doors and four or six steps to reach the doors. The sidewalk was a light brown, the color of sand.
