Stevie cuddled up to Lindsey and to say Lindsey didn't expect it would be an understatement. He read her carefully, trying to decide what to do next. He placed an arm around her and her body relaxed against his. Her rubbed her upper arm, and Stevie smiled, sensing he was nervous.

"I'm sorry I didn't call you" Stevie said.

"I didn't call either. I'm sorry too."

"I forgive you" she said and he smirked.

"Honestly, I'm surprised you stayed after you saw me waiting here. I expected you to run away."

"That would have been pretty immature, especially after all the work Jenna put in to get us both in the same room"

"That's true, but when have either of us been mature about anything?" Lindsey raised an eyebrow and Stevie started to giggle.

"Okay, you win" she says and Lindsey laughs a little too.

"I'm glad you're here"

"Me too" Lindsey pours them each a glass of a wine, and food is ordered. When the dishes arrive, they pry themselves apart, knowing they needed space to eat. She took a seat across from him, rather than beside him, tucking into their meal. Conversation comes easily and when there is silence, it is comfortable. They exchange occasional loving glances, talking about anything that will keep the mood up and light.

"Steph" he said in a more serious tone and she looked up, placing her fork down. "I...I want you to know I wasn't ignoring you, I wasn't running away"

"Okay" she said.

"And, um, a lot has been happening in my world and I'm sure a lot has been going on with you too. When you asked me to leave, well, I thought you were done with me. I was shocked to see you tonight."

"Well, I wasn't told you would be here. It was supposed to be just me and Jenna" Stevie said and he deflated a little. "But-" she continues. "That doesn't mean that I wasn't happy to see you. I thought about you every minute of the day. I was hurt, I was angry...I talked about this with Jenna, but after a while I just came to feel..." He could see her thinking about how she wanted to word it. She was always so careful. She hated to be misunderstood. "I feel at peace, for lack of a better word" He reached a hand out and took hers in his.

"That makes me feel a lot better"

"I didn't really have the right to be angry but it hurt, and I told you so. There are not many things I regret in my life, and I don't know if I can even call this feeling regret, but sometimes I really wish that I had what you and Kristen have together. I wanted that with you and maybe I feel a little slighted." He gave her hand a gentle squeeze, seeing she was getting a little emotional. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't be saying this."

"No, I need to hear it."

"It's not fair to you."

"I care so much about how you feel. I need to know."

"I guess that's all I have right now" she says with a shrug.

"Well, if you have anymore, you can tell me. I love you." he told her.

She looked up at him with watery eyes, a single tear rolling down her face. "I love you too, Linds" plates were taken away after their meal was finished in relative silence. A contented sigh escaped her and he smiled.

"Hey, do you wanna...get out of here?" He asked, slight hesitation in his voice. Was this too forward? He didn't want her to get the wrong idea. "You can come see my place."

"I'd like that" Stevie said, a small smile playing on her lips. He pays the bill and takes her hand in one of his, while the other held her bouquet of roses, leading her out to the car. He helps her inside, starts it up and just stares at her a moment. "What?"

"I can't get over how good you look. I haven't seen you wear anything like this in so, so long."

"You really like it?"

"You're a vision." he tells her. She turns her body a little to face him and she strokes his face. She looked up into his beautiful, blue crystalline eyes and leaned forward to place a soft kiss on his lips. His hand went right to the back of her head, slipping his fingers into her silky blonde hair as he deepened the kiss.

"Thank you" she said when they finally separated.

"You're welcome."

"Turn the car off." she said, her voice firm and he obeyed.

"Change your mind?" He asked and she shook her head, kissing him again, this time not as chastely as before. He groaned, his hands traveling south, toward her waist then venturing even further to her bum. He gave it a squeeze as they continued to kiss hungrily. His tongue explored her mouth expertly, eliciting a moan from them both. How he longed to be with her intimately. She unbuttoned his shirt a little, running her hands over this chest and trailing kisses down his neck. Had she been a younger girl, she would have hopped in his lap, but that didn't seem like something she would even try, not wanting to risk the embarrassment.

"Backseat" she commanded and he just stared at her. "Come on" She got out, pushed her seat forward and climbed in the barely there backseat. Right now, she wasn't thinking. She didn't care. She needed to feel him. He was stunned by her action, but quickly came to, joining her. There was no room for anything fancy, simply unbuttoning his trousers, hitching up her dress and moving her panties aside. She was breathing heavily and there was lust in her eyes. He descended upon her, stroking her a little for lubrication. Before either of them knew it, he was inside of her. She wrapped her legs around him and he slammed into her. He was surprised how flexible she still was, even after all this time. No mater how many times he had her, it was never the same and always a new adventure. He pulled her dress up a little higher, begging for skin. The fiery exchange was almost too much, the spontaneity of their backseat romp exciting him beyond belief. Much too quickly, he felt himself getting close.

"I don't want this to end."

"Let go" she said. "We can go again at your place" she whispers in a husky voice. He braced himself on the small window across from him with a firm hand, forcing himself as far inside her as he could, banging into her cervix repeatedly. She felt her release building to an explosive crescendo and she moaned loudly, kissing him to quiet her screams of passion and ecstasy. Lindsey welcomed the kisses, silencing his own groans as he too climaxed. He lingered inside of her, stroking her sides and gripping her shapely hips.

"I love you" he told her.

"I love you too."

"Marry me. Marry me, Stephanie" he said breathlessly, sweat pouring down his face, neck and chest. She searched his eyes, looking for anything that would prove he was acting in lust, not love. She found nothing and she smiled, giving him a gentle kiss.

"Yes," she told him. "Yes, yes I'll marry you"
