Okay so today I will be talking about how you take the pictures of your beautiful creations and get them ready to be posted on the internet! × Okay so I see people taking bad pictures of their art way too often. Bad pictures just destroys the artwork :c So here's some tips I guess?
1. Find good lighting. When you take your pictures you want to find a good place with neutral lighting (light from the outside). I myself have some favorite spots in the house where i like to take my pictures. My desk where I have a big window and a nice cool textured surface (I used this spot today when taking this pic) and one by our sliding glass doors. If you dont have a good spot inside go outside and take your pictures!! Neutral light is important if you want the colors to pop and just look overall more pleasing for the eye.
2. Take the picture when its light outside. Even if you go to your favorite window the sun still need to be up there somewhere for you to get the light that you want. That should be pretty self explanatory but hey. If your sitting plowing trough an art piece at 3am just take the picture tomorrow.
3. Details around the art! This is completely optional but when I make badges I like to make it look snazzy around the artwork. This is the first time I've added shells around it, but my point still stands. Normally I just put a copic next to the badge to show off the size, but just as for the artwork everyone has their own style and some get real creative!
4.Editing. This is another optimal step but this is a thing that I do too :> If you dont already have one, find a good editing app on your device of choice. I use the default editing program that comes with the Honor phone. Dont overdo this step!! You want to keep the artwork as original as possible. Especially if you are sending it to someone. They might be disappointed when they find out that the colors dont look the same as they did on the picture.
I like to crop off some unnecessary bits, turn up the light a little, throw in some contrast too make up for the turnt up light and sprinkle some sharpness over the shit. If you overdo the sharpness it will look super weird so bE cArEfUL.
Here's the same badge but with my bathroom lighting.
