Chapter 3

Li Mei's POV

"Xiao Li. Wake up. We have to go to class." Someone said, gently shaking me.

"Mmm... five more minutes, mom." I say, using my pillow to cover my face.

They chuckle.

"Come on, Xiao Li. We don't have much time. If you don't get ready now, we'll be late for class." They say.

I open my eyes to Wang Yuan's cute smile.

"Ok, ok. I'm getting up." I groan.

"Thank youuuuu." He says, heading downstairs.

We eat breakfast and walk to school.

Qin Qin and I quickly go to class after yesterday's incident.

I immediately take my seat and start doing my warm-up.

"Glad to see you're not late today, you two." Mrs. Wu says, shooting us glares.

Junkai, Wang Yuan, and Qian Xi show up 5 minutes after the bell rings.

"Sorry Mrs. Wu, we were-" Wang Yuan starts.

"No, no. It's alright, boys, I understand. Sometimes, we get caught up with things. Please take a seat." Mrs. Wu says with a smile.

They nod and take their seats. Qin Qin and I exchange annoyed looks. Qin Qin and Qian Xi smile at each other.

I glance over at Wang Yuan. He looked cute today. If only I had the guts to ask him out. I haven't told anyone about my crush on Wang Yuan, not even Qin Qin. It would just be weird if I dated him. Maybe I can talk to Junkai about it and we can-

"Li Mei. Answer question 7 right now." Mrs. Wu says, sternly, snapping me out of my thoughts.

"Uh..." I pause, studying the equation.

'Dang it! I don't know the answer! What do I do?' I thought, worriedly.

"57." I heard Wang Yuan whisper.

"57?" I say out loud.

"Hmph. That is correct." Mrs. Wu says, obviously mad that I got the answer right.

"Thanks." I whisper, giving Wang Yuan a small smile. He smiles back.

RING! RING! RING!

We all head to the cafeteria. We sit in our usual seats.

"Where's Addison?" I ask.

"I broke up with her after she cheated on me. I think I'm done with her." Junkai said.

"Oh, thank god. I don't think I can last any longer with her near me." I said, relieved.

"Yuan Yuan!" A voice behind me squeals.

"Oh no." Wang Yuan grumbles.

"Excuse me. Can you get up so I can sit with my Yuan Bear?" Makayla asks me, sweetly.

I almost gagged. Wang Yuan frantically shook his head no.

"Sorry, but this is my seat." I say, awkwardly.

She made a face.

"Fine then. I don't know what makes you think my Yuan Bear would ever like you, but ok. I'll see you in art, Yuan Yuan." She says, blowing him a kiss and walking off.

I cringed. That was disgusting.

"Sorry." Wang Yuan said, obviously disgusted by her.

"It's not your fault." I reply with a smile.
