Chapter 20

Li Mei's POV

"I was wondering if you want to go somewhere with me tomorrow?" He finishes.

My eyes widen.

"N-Not as a date! As f-friends! Just to catch up!" Wang Yuan says frantically, covering his face with his hands.

I blush lightly. He was so cute! How could I say no?!

"Sure! Where do you want to go?" I give him a smile.

"I've already got that planned! It's a surprise!" He smiles.

"Alright." I roll my eyes with a smile still on my face.

I get up and go to my room.

Qin Qin enters my room.

"Ever heard of knocking?" I giggle.

"Yea, I have." She rolls her eyes.

"You should do it sometime." I smile.

"Why are you so happy?" She asks me, suspiciously.

"W-What do you mean? I'm always happy."

"No, you're extra happy today. Is it something about Wang Yuan?" She gives me a smirk.

"N-No!" I lie, blushing.

Qin Qin laughs.

"Come on! Tell me!"

"He asked me if I wanted to go somewhere with him tomorrow..."

"He did!?" She asks, excitedly.

"Not as a date. Just as friends to catch up."

"That's a start." She shrugs. "Where are you guys going?"

"He says it's a surprise." I say, rolling my eyes.

"Aww! That's cute! Aren't you excited? We need to pick out an outfit for tomorrow! What do you have in your closet?!" She drags me over to my closet.

"J-Jeez! Slow down! I don't even know where we're going! What if you make me wear a dress and heels when we're going mountain hiking or something?!"

"Huh. True." Qin Qin says before walking out of my room.

I tilt my head in confusion.

I shrug and turn on my TV.

"I'm back!" Qin Qin comes in and takes the TV remote. She turns off the TV.

"Why'd you do that?! I was watching Spongebob!" I fake sob.

"Stop it, you drama queen! I asked Wang Yuan what kind of clothing you should wear!" She rolls her eyes.

"Can't we just pick out an outfit tomorrow? That was a new episode!"

"No! You need to make sure you're ready for tomorrow!"

"Qin Qin, I've got plenty of time tomorrow." I grumble.

"Uh, no, you don't! You're leaving at 1:00!" She crosses her arms.

"It takes me like, five minutes to get ready."

"No, because you're gonna change tomorrow, and I'm gonna do your hair and make-up!"

"Make-up?! Why do I need make-up! You know I hate make-up!" I groan.

"Because you do! You need to look flawless!"

"No! You're not the boss of me! I'm not wearing make-up!" I whine like a 4-year-old.

"Okay, fine! But I'm still doing your hair!"

"Deal!" I smile in satisfaction.

"Alright!" She says, rummaging through all of my clothes.

"Try on this! And this! Ooh! And this one!" She says, throwing a bunch of hangers with clothes on them at me.

"You're trying to kill me!" I stare in horror at the huge pile of clothes forming as Qin Qin looked through my closet.

"Qin Qin! This is like, 90% of my whole closet!"

"That's alright! We have all day, take your time!" She says, adding another shirt into the pile.

I sigh and pick up an outfit.

Wang Yuan's POV

I can't believe she said yes!

"Wang Yuan!" Qin Qin comes into my room.

"Yea?" I ask her with a huge smile on my face.

"Good job! Xiao Li told me about how you asked her!"

"It's just as friends though. It's not a big deal." I shrug.

"What kind of clothes should she wear? She told me you said it was a surprise."

"Just what she usually wears. It doesn't really matter."

"Where are you taking her?"

"Just to two places. I don't want you to know right now. You might tell her." I tease her.

She rolls her eyes and leaves my room.

I silently look around my room as I smile. Which soon turns into a small frown.

I picked up the picture that was on my nightstand next to my bed.

It was a picture of Cindy and I. It was on New Year's, just a few months after we had met. It was the year that Xiao Li left to start her modeling career.

I remembered the day clearly. A little while after we took the picture, I led Cindy out to the park and that's where we had our first kiss and I asked her to be my girlfriend.

I got up and went into my closet. There was no way I could keep this picture next to my bed.

I placed the picture on a higher shelf and knocked over another picture.

I picked up the picture I had knocked over.

It was a picture of Xiao Li and I.

It was a picture I took when Xiao Li and I were at the school camp field trip a few years ago. I had taken a picture of us when we were out hiking.

I smiled and placed the picture on my nightstand, and went downstairs.

"Wang Yuan! Help me make dinnerrrr!" Junkai calls from the kitchen.

"You know I can't cook!" I whine.

"You don't have to! Just help me wash this stuff and cut it up! Qian Xi is busy so he isn't helping me today."

"Fine." I sigh in defeat and walk into the kitchen.

Li Mei's POV

"Is that all??????" I whine.

"Not yet! There's a-"

"Guys! Dinner!" My brother calls from downstairs.

I rush downstairs and sit in my usual seat.

"Jeez, are you that hungry today?" Wang Yuan teases me.

I roll my eyes.

"Yea, so hurry up and give me my food."

"You didn't say please. So you're getting your food last." Wang Yuan says, placing the first bowl where he usually sits.

I take Wang Yuan's bowl and start eating.

"Hey!" Wang Yuan pouts.

Qin Qin and Qian Xi come downstairs.

"About time! What were you two doing?" Junkai teases them.

Qian Xi rolls his eyes as Qin Qin blushes madly.

We finish dinner and decide to play some board games.

Junkai calls Xiao Ming over so while we're waiting for her, we decide to pick some games and make some snacks.
