everyone could see the level of frustration on percys face days after his sister was captured, artemis was placed in danger, training the demigods, and now having an identity crisis. by the end of the day not only were the demigods tired but so was he, if he didnt figure this out who would? artemis walked into the cabin and saw percy looking over documents long after everyone else had gone to bed. bianca and zoe took their leave when she was safely inside. artemis jumped when percy slammed a hand on the table. she walked closer tryin to hear what he was muttering, but she only caught sister, order, father, war, plans, team, and she blushed when she heard him mutter her name. even thou she might not ever admit it out loud she really did love percy. she hadn't really known until he had well, disapeared that she realised. slowly she made her way over to him before placing a hand on his shoulder. she felt him tense up then relax, he looked over at her with a smile. "hello artemis, what can i do for you?" he asked artemis hesitated just a moment before saying "im worried about you percy." she felt him tense up once again, "im fine artemis, i promise." when she looked at him sceptically he sighed, "im just a little stressed is all, i'll be fine." percy turned back to his papers in order to avoid any further conversation about himself. pausing for a moment artemis pulled up a chair next to him and sat down practically looking over his shoulder at the documents. percy looked over at her with a small smile on his face, he slid some of the paper her way that she could read, ancient primordial i hard to read for most people. as she looked over what she was given artemis noticed an irregularity, it was small and could easily be mistaken for something else. "percy look at this" she said as he showed him. each and everynight one of the aphordite campers went missing but always returned in the morning. no other camper did, and the disapearing camper never went into any other cabin. "looks like octavions thoughts were right, we do have a spy." percy muttered "but which camper is it?" artemis sat there watching him think, before he ran a hand through his hair. "too much to do so little time, i need to find orders base of operations before its too late. thank dad the demigods are farther along than i had hoped they would be." percy said standing up. he started paceing the room trying to place the pieces together. after some minutes of this he growled in frustration, running his hands through his hair. artemis got up from her spot and calmly walked over to him. she wrapped her arms around him and squeezed slightly, burying her face into his back. she could feel him relaxing bit by bit as she held him. he was taller than she remembered, she smiled at the thought of the short boy she had met on the cliff all those years ago. and here she was holding him, she felt him shift in her arms and looked up to see him turning around. he wrapped his arms around her and burried his head in her hair surprising her. blushing profusely artemis noticed the wettness on her shoulder. her eyes widened as she realised he was crying, "percy?" instead of answering he just held her closer. after a few seconds he pulled away and looked at her face as if looking for a sign it was alright. artemis smiled at him hugging him once more before pulling away and directing him to his room. she turned as he removed his cloak and shirt only turning back around once she heard the shuffleing of the blankets. she walked awkwardly over to the bed and sat on the edge. she sat there for a moment before giving into her idea, as quietly as possible as to not disturb the others artemis started to sing the lullaby her mother sang to her and apollo when they were troubled. as she sang she watched as percy slowly fell asleep a calmer expresion on his face. she moved some of the hair from his face taking in every detail, once she finished with her song she kissed his forehead before curling up next to him on the bed using the thin blanket she had found on the chair in the corner.
the next morning percy woke to a mop of auburn hair that was spread across his chest. blushing he layed his head back down and refused to do more than breath. oh how he wanted to run his fingers through her hair, but he was afraid that not only would she kill him but he might fall farther in love with her. so he waited for what felt like hours till she finally started to wake. she had moved her head just enough to were percy was now staring into her eyes, his face was beat red. after many minutes of the two blishing artemis practically launched herslf from the room slamming the door shut. "well that was interesting." percy said blandly as he got up to get dressed and ready for the new day.
