I sat at the table Marinette and I had sat at last week when I had first asked her for her help. I had called her last night to ask if she wanted to meet to today and we had agreed on this cafe. Strangely, it already felt like our spot. I glanced out the window to watch a butterfly flutter past and I caught a glimpse of her midnight blue hair ducking through the door.

She looked around the cafe, looking for me, and I stood up to catch her attention. Her face lit up when she saw me and a blush tinted her cheeks. She headed towards me and as she wound through the tables, I could see her completely, and I found myself oddly out of breath.

She was dressed in a simple red and black dress that ended at her knees but it suited her completely.

"A-Adrien?" She glanced up at me, her lip caught once again between her teeth.

I shook my head and smiled. "Wow, you look great! Red really suits you."

She blushed. "Oh, you think so? It's one of my new designs that got released last week."

"I'm not surprised, it looks stunning," I pulled out her chair for her. "Thanks for meeting me though."

She slid into her seat and I moved around to my side. "It's no problem, really."

I smiled and sat down in my own chair. "I know that's it kind of odd for me to ask for your help since we haven't really talked all that much since school but you're the only person I know that will actually help me. Everyone else thinks I'm either insane or stupid."

Her smile was a little tight and fleeting.
"Anything to help an old friend."

I frowned at her oddness but then dismissed it. She mustn't be feeling well.

"Can I just ask a question?" Marinette frowned. "Why her? What is it about her that you like?"

I smiled. "I like who she is." Marinette's skepticism was a real thing. "I know she doesn't have the best reputation but while she was working with Father's models, she was so nice and beautiful, and she was never deterred from speaking her mind."

A line formed between her eyebrows and I had the sudden urge to smooth it out. God, what is wrong with me today?

"Why don't you just ask her out?" she cocked her head to the side. "If she is as you say she is, then pulling off some ploy to get her to like you would be pointless."

I nodded slowly, "You're right, Marinette, I know you are, I just know that she's going to say no to me."

She raised an eyebrow. "Then convince her. If she's as great as you say she is then showing her how great you are will convince her. Also, don't try to be someone you're not because if she likes a fake persona, she wouldn't like a real person."

"This is why I came to you," I beamed at her and rose from my chair to kiss her on the cheek. "Thank you, Marinette. You're a genius. I know we had plans for lunch but do you mind if I go try out your idea? Rain check?"

"Yeah, sure. Why not?" she sounded a little distant as I zoomed out of the cafe but I focused instead on my mission; I was going to make the girl I liked like me.

Hey, thanks for sticking with me. I know I haven't written in forever but I'd had an utter mind blank as to how this conversation would go, and I know it's short, I just wanted to switch to Marinette's point of view.

Thank you!
