Chapter 2

Elliot's POV

I guess I forgot to tell you I have serious asthma and right after we went back to our room I had a huge asthma attack. I had never sang that much before and I guess I wasn't ready. Avril got out the nebulizer and put the mask on me. I breathed in and out heavily and coughing at some points until the loudspeaker came on. "Congratulations to Avril! You have been chosen to be adopted. Start packing your things the boys will be there any minute now." Mrs.Baker said through the loudspeaker. Told you I blew my interview. "Start packing your things, I'll be fine." I said still wearing the nebulizer. "No, I'm the only one who knows how to take care of you and Darwin. I'm not leaving without you." she said stroking my hair to calm me down. Just then I heard a knock at the door.

Avril's POV

We heard a knock at the door. I opened the door and saw the boys standing there. "You ready to go?" Connor said. "No, I'm not leaving without my sister." I said as the boys looked at her lying on the bed with the nebulizer still on. She started coughing a lot so I ran over and stroked her hair again. She calmed down again and I went back to talk to the boys. "She really needs you doesn't she?" Kian said smiling. I nodded as the boys went in the hall to talk. They came back a minute later and said, "Tell your sister to pack her things too. We're taking both of you." Ricky said smiling. I was so happy. I ran over to Elliot and told her to pack her things. Luckily, her asthma attack was over. After we packed we met the boys at the entrance while Elliot thought of where to hide Darwin.

Elliot's POV

I told Avril to meet me downstairs. I figured out where to hide Darwin. I put him in my barely filled suitcase and left the zipper open just a little. I went downstairs and said goodbye to the prison I'd managed to live in for my entire life.
