Chapter 19

Elliot's POV

---one week later---

No, no, no, no, no! We can't be leaving! I paced around my room. Avril was packing all our things, I couldn't stand to see all our stuff get packed away again. When she finished. she handed me my suitcase and we walked downstairs. I walked as slow as possible trying to buy us time. When we got to the bottom of the stairs I took one last look at the house. Everyone was waiting at the door to walk us out. We all had a big group hug with, of course, me trapped in the middle. I didn't complain, it was the last time we would be able to. We gave them all individual hugs when my parents pulled up in front of the house. We gave them more hugs until Connor picked me up. I wrapped my arms around his neck, never wanting to let go. "Its time to go." Avril said trying to take me from Connor. It only made me hold on tighter. "Come on, we have to leave now." she said becoming impatient. I just shook my head and held on tighter. Connor was starting to let go. "No, please." I said trying to stay in his grip. Avril was grabbing me from behind. Connor let go but I still held on. My hands slipped and I was carried away by Avril. "Stop it! Please, no no!" I screamed. Everybody was waving goodbye when I realized that I was actually leaving forever. I stopped fighting and let Avril carry me to the car. We started driving away and I started pounding on the window. I was yelled at and stopped. I took one last glimpse at my family and said, "Come back."

After a long drive, we finally got to our old house. It hasn't changed at all. Still gross and broken down. They showed us to our old room when I rememered, WE FORGOT DARWIN!!! How could we forget our dog?! I told Avril and she called one of the boys. She said Ricky was coming to drop him off. While we waited, we looked around my depressing house trying to refresh my brain.

Avril's POV

A half an hour later Ricky came with Darwin in his cage. I ran outside and gave Ricky a big bear hug. We talked for a little while until we heard sirens. A cop car pulled up next to us and two cops came out. They pulled us apart as Ricky dropped Darwin's cage. "He just lost custody of us we still get to talk!" I said trying to get back to Ricky. "Actually it does. You didn't read page 4 did you? one cop said. I finally broke free and got to Ricky. I pushed the other cop into his car and held onto Ricky. Elliot ran out and grabbed Darwin's cage as both cops grabbed onto we and put me in hand cuffs. "What are you doing?!" Elliot yelled placing Darwin's cage back on the ground and running next to Ricky. "Taking her to juvenile detention." one cop said throwing me into the cop car. "WHAT?!" I screamed as they slammed the car door in my face. Uh oh.
