Calling All High Schoolers

Chapter 3

The teacher introduced himself he was a fairly young teacher and he taught our Social Studies class. I looked over at Delilah and she had her eyes locked on the new teacher. She stared at him like he did something wrong. I questionably stared at her then I tried to ignore it and pretended to read my book. The lesson went on, but I had this feeling in my stomach that didn't feel right. Second period goes by and then we went to lunch. I think that I am going to ask her why she was staring at our new teacher when we get to my house. Delilah and I sat down at a table and started eating. I knew the lunches were bad here, but I didn't know they were this bad. I got a grilled cheese and tomato soup.

"This looks like someone ate a tomato and threw it up into my bowl," I said as Delilah examined at it. 

"My lunch isn't too hot either. Anyways, how is your sister?"

"She is studying journalism and wants to work for the Darkmore News. She hasn't been home in a while, but she is coming home tonight and you will get to see her," I said. 

We continued talking and then a boy walked up to our table. He pulled me aside and said he wanted to ask something. I was nervous about what exactly he wanted.

"I saw what you did to Tommy, the all-star football player. I am guessing that was you and I would like to know if you could give me lessons on you know what. Also, I noticed that you are into photography judging that you have a nice vintage camera, so I thought that we could take pictures together."

"Sure, and I could teach you some things, but I only know a medium amount because I am not fully trained myself, but my brother Kellin can help us out with some tricks. He is a basketball player and has telekinesis also. My name is Poppy by the way."

"Oh, I know Kellin. He and I take gym together. I am Levi and I am looking forward to hanging out with you," he said he handed me a piece of paper with his number on it and he strode off the grass. 

I had some urge to call him back to our table and talk with me more. He seemed shy, but at the same time, he was utterly confident. Knowing myself I closed the thought out of my mind because I knew I would overthink it. I walked back over to our table and sat down. Delilah must have noticed that I was in a daze when she tapped me on the shoulder. 

"Hellooo, Earth to Poppy! Man, he must have said something really special. You look like you just got brainwashed or something."

"Oh, I am so sorry he just asked me a favor because he knew that I was Kellin's little sister. It was nothing" 

She looked at me and she knew that I was lying. I must spill the beans tonight or she wouldn't want to be my best friend anymore. I have to stop lying to her face, but somehow, I always find a way to cover up what I am feeling. Lunch was over and we all went back to class. All our teachers were super nice to us surprisingly. Kellin and Beatrice warned me about next year's teachers though. I kind of liked not having to deal with snotty teachers for once. When the final bell rang I realized that time flew by so fast. I packed up my stuff and waited by Delilah's locker. Her's was just across the hallway so that was nice. She fidgeted with her new lock and the door finally burst open. She got her stuff and we walked to the Junior hallway to meet up with Kellin. Tommy passed me in the hallway and called me a freak. I got some more revenge and gave him a telekinetic wedgie. He screamed in pain and then walked off slowly. I chuckled under my breath and continued walking. Even though I was little I sure did pack a punch. We saw Kellin and I hopped on his back. He was frightened at first, but then realized it was me and he laughed. I got back down and we headed out of the door. I was cheered up that my life was getting back to normal, but I was still worried on how I would break the news to Delilah about my powers.
