My dad was working a little late so we had to work so Kellin, Delilah, and I had to walk home. She started to speed up to Kellin. I shot her an angered look and she slowed down to walk with me. Kellin was listening to music, which I told him to take out his earbuds because we all liked the same music. Last year we all went to a concert that was in town and it was so amazing. Times like that I can't forget, but the times that are about to come are going to be far worse. We reached the driveway and Kellin fidgeted with his keys and unlocked the door. My brother stupidly used his powers and put his stuff away in the closet. Delilah stared blankly and I sat her down on the couch.

"Delilah, I was going to tell you later tonight, but that idiot over there didn't realize you were behind me. We all have powers. I wanted to show you a long time ago, but my mom wasn't sure if you were ready yet. I told her that it was time for you to know, so that is why I wanted you to stay over so I can go into further detail. My dad is not just a cop. He is a telekinetic crime solver. He gave his powers to Kellin and me. My mom and sister have telepathy. Can you forgive me?"

"Poppy, you didn't have to hide this from me. I have been your friend since forever. I am a little surprised, but I should have suspected this because the residents of this town that have lived here for a long time are usually different. Can we not keep secrets anymore please?"

"Yes, we have to tell the truth to each other. Also, I got to do something now that you know we have powers," I turned around and used my powers to throw a pan at Kellin for being so stupid.

We all started laughing, except him because he was rubbing his head. Delilah and I hugged and I backed away quickly. I forgot that I was going to give her a present. A floating box came from downstairs. I took it and opened it up and showed it to Delilah. It had two necklaces that were a key and a lock.

"I bought us this because today you moved in ten years ago right across the street. Today we met and played with stuffed animals. You are my best friend and I am sorry that I had to hide the biggest part of my life from you. I just learned about it when I was ten. I still have a lot to learn and I have to tell you more, but I will tell you that when everybody is not staring at me," and with that note, everyone dispersed.

Delilah sat on the couch watching tv while I helped my mom with dinner, my mom was making quesadillas, which was simple because that was the first dish I ever learned how to make. My dad and Kellin were talking and I could tell that my mom was eavesdropping telepathically. I just got done making the last quesadilla when my sister came through the door. She said hello to everyone and then came to me.

"Poppy grandma wants to see you on Monday in the afternoon. She wants to tell you something very important. She told me that it will decide your fate," she said with a very concerned look.

What did grandma need to tell me that will decide the fate of my life? I told Beatrice to take me there on Monday and I want to take Delilah with me. If something is going to decide my future I want my best friend to be there. The thought lingered in my mind for the rest of the night.
