**************Chapter 1
"Hey Lindsay!" yelled Chris. I turned quickly turned around and was face to face with him.
"His blonde hair, the blue eyes. Oh my god, Lindsay! Stop it!" My mind shouted at me.
"Oh, uh...h-hey, Chris. What do you need. I mean, what's up?" I staggered onto my words.
He chuckled. "I was wondering-"
"No...I don't like you...who said that?" I said quickly.
He laughed. "Not what I was going to say," He looked down at his phone and quickly read a text. "My family is going to the beach. My parents said that I could bring a couple of friends. You can bring Katie or whoever and I'll bring Freddy. So...you want to come?"
I thought for a moment. Chris, the hottest 10th grader, and also my crush since the 7th grade, was asking me if I'd want to go to the beach with him.
"Heck yea! Plus I really want to get away from my little sister, Amanda."
"Alright then. Sorry this is late notice but we are leaving tomorrow at 9:30 sharp."
"Lindsay!" That was my mom calling me.
"Uh... got to go Chris. My parents will say yes so I'll be over at 9:15. Bye" I said. Then I ran off to my house.
"Kay. See ya." He said. And I swore I heard him say love ya but every girl who talks to him thinks that, so I knew I was just imagining it.
I walked-ran home and opened the front door.
"Who was that honey? Was that your boyfriend?"
"MOM!"
"HONEY!"
"He's Chris Hegan ,and he just invited me to the beach with him for the weekend. He said that I could bring two friends."
"You have to talk to your father before you go prancing around the beach with some boy."
So lucky! My dad came home that second.
"Hey honey."
"Hey dad. Um...I was wondering...a guy asked me to go to the beach with him for the weekend-"
"Sure, you can go. Did he say anything else?"
"Yea. He said that I could bring two friends."
"Perfect! You'll bring Amanda and your BFF or what ever you call each other."
"No. That's not happening! I'm not bringing Amanda!"
"Honey, your mother and I need to have some alone time together. Give us a break for once.
"Fine."
"Good."
I ran upstairs to call my BFF, Katie Vonízel. I don't know why I called her when she was coming over anyway for our sleepover. She said yes in a heartbeat. In about five seconds later she was here. The night went fast and in the morning, we left with Amanda and all of our stuff. We said bye to my parents, even though I wanted to say bye to Amanda too. We walked to Chris' house. He and Freddy were there too... and Alex, his little brother.
"I thought-" I started.
"Yea. I know. Alex's babysitter got sick and now we have to bring him along. I thought you wanted to get away from Amanda." he replied.
"I didn't want to. But you know parents, and how they force you to do stuff." I said feeling dumb.
"Thank God Alex and Amanda are in the same class and are friends." I thought to myself.
"Hey, Freddy!" said Katie. Her voice was sweet and soft and when she said Freddy, it was 20 syllables and not two.
"Hey." said Freddy. We left with out a word. It took us a very painful hour to get to Chris' beach house. Amanda kept grabbing my iPhone and texted my other friends from school. She's always a pest.
"We're here." said Chris' dad, Mr. Hegan.
The Beach house was big. Bigger than my house! We all raced each other to our rooms. Girls in one, boys in the other. There were three beds in each room. One bunk-bed and a twin bed. Me and Katie got the bunk-bed and Amanda got the twin bed. We unpacked everything and then we went downstairs to get something to eat and drink. By the time we got down stairs, ate a snack, and got a drink, it was 12:30 p.m.
"What if we found a treasure map! How crazy would that be!" I said.
"So crazy!" Said Katie.
"Yea, it would be. But you never know." said Chris.
"Yea." chimed in Freddy.
"Really?" I said.
"Hey, I didn't say I didn't think it wouldn't happen, I just thought it would be a little crazy." said Katie.
"Kids, we are going to the beach now so get ready. We will be leaving in 20 minutes." yelled down Mrs. Hegan.
"Kay, mom!" Chris yelled back. So we all got dressed. Amanda was in her bathing suit, Alex was in his swim trunks, and every one else wore a tee-shirt and shorts. I did my hair in a long, thick pony-tail and Katie did a small braid with her thick, dark chocolate hair. Once the car was packed, we headed out. After about 15 minutes on the beach, we desided to take a walk. We found rocks, shells, sea glass, and sand-dollars. But we never expected to find a non-smashed, glass bottle.
"A BOTTLE!" screamed Alex.
"THERE'S SOMETHING IN THE BOTTLE!" screamed Amanda. So we did what every kid or teen would do. Open the bottle. I pulled the paper that was in it out. Blank. I turned it over. Blank.
"Its blank. the whole page." I said. The paper was coffee colored and was wrinkly.
"Can I have it?" asked Chris.
"Sure, but I'm telling you guys there's nothing on that paper." I said handing the page to him.
"WORDS! THEY JUST APPEARED!" Chris screamed.
