Lindsay sank down. Down. Down. The air got thinner. She was gasping for breath. She lost her breath and sank close to the ground. But she didn't touch it. The serpent left, scared. Lindsay opened her eyes to a see a flashing light around her legs. She could start to breath normally. In fact, she even opened her mouth and said her name. The salt water didn't come into her mouth. And if it did, she could still breath.
"No, not that. I'm not that." thought Lindsay.
Then she realized what she was. She was a....mermaid.
She loved the idea when she was younger. But she never thought it would happen. The flashing light replaced her feet with a beautiful tealish mermaid tail. I even had tiny streaks of purple in it! She was excited. Scared. And worried about her friends. She quickly swam up to the surface. The waves rolled. But when she stopped blowing out air they stopped.
"Katie! Amanda! Freddy! Alex! Chris!" Lindsay said.
"Lindsay!" screamed a faint voice.
"Amanda?" Lindsay screamed back.
"Yea! Come quickly! Somethings wrong with Katie! Hurry." Amanda screamed back.
Lindsay quickly swam over to where they were. Katie was blond! Katie had dark chocolate hair. Straight dark chocolate hair. Katie was in some type of shock because she floated in the center of them with her eyes open and her arm out as if she was going to catch someone. It was creepy.
"Get to land! Hurry!" Lindsay said.
They all swam carrying Katie and dragging her onto an island. Lindsay looked at the paper. Held it. Believed it. A message came up on the wet paper.
"The girl you see in front of you is in a very bad shock. Goddess of birds, she must live. But beware of the thieving pirates that want the queen." Lindsay read.
"Wait....who's the queen? Queen of what?" asked Freddy.
"The queen...the queen...the queen..." said Lindsay thinking. Then she felt her head and felt a small crown-like-shell.
"Me. I'm the queen. I'm the queen of everything." Lindsay said.
"Ahoy there mates! The queens givin' her magical powers away! Capture her before she gives 'em! Capture the brunette too! She can be the perfect swab me mates!" said a captain on a pirate ship.
"Got that Captain John!" yelled a crew worker, hopping off the boat. She was female. She was beautiful. Long blond hair with a shell in her hair. But she wasn't pirate material. She was coming closer, closer, closer....
"Get away! Leave!" Lindsay screamed in the she-pirate's face.
"Don't worry Queen Aqua, I'm hear. The royal guard. You can take care of your friend when we get to your castle. Hurry!" said the she-pirate. Lindsay gave a weird glance at the she-pirate.
"Who are you! By the way, my name is Lindsay." Lindsay said.
"Everything alright mate?" said the captain.
"Just fine! Meet me on Silverstar though!" yelled the she-pirate to the captain.
"Come. I'm a mermaid too. Your friends will be fine. Hurry. Though the woods!" she said picking up Katie and running. They all ran after the she-pirate. And amazingly, into the ocean as well. The she-pirate transformed into a mermaid with a hot pink tail with amber stripes. They all swam deep down into the ocean. Then a castle made of coral and seaweed appeared.
Snap!
Lindsay was caught in a net. A fishing net that had closed together. The worst part was that it was the pirates net.
