Chapter 4

"Wake up! Wake up!" said someone shaking me.

"Oh, hey Amanda." I said looking around. Then I remembered that we were doing a "treasure map".

"Step 3!" yelled Alex.

"Can't you guys ever read? " I thought.

"Move quickly! Evil magic has found you! If you transform, you will be like that FOREVER!" Read Katie.

Then she quickly transformed into a human. Freddy did the same. But Amanda, was a different story.

"Hey! My necklace! It fell into the water! I'll be right back." she said.

Apparently, right back never happened. As soon as she dove into the deep water, a light flashed and she never came back.

"Amanda!" I screamed.

Nothing.

No ripple in the water.

No voice.

Nothing.

Absolutely nothing.

Dark clouds rolled out as a message I actually believed in formed.

"Lindsay...this one is for you." said Katie.

I quickly grabbed it from her and read it to myself.

"NO! Amanda..." I waled.

Chris took it from me and read it.

"She won't see you. Ever. She transformed. The evil magic has taken over her life."

Then I started to cry.

Cry.

Cry.

"All we did was fight! I should have been the one who transformed! Its all my fault!" I was bawling now.

"Its not your fault." said Chris holding me.

"You never fight with your brother ,EVER! I fight every single day of my life with her! And stop it! You'll never understand!" I yelled. Then I walked to the other side of the island. I sat down, still bawling. Then I stared at my reflection in the water.

"I didn't even believe for her." I said quietly.

Then I laid down on the beach. I slowly slid into the water. But I wasn't moving myself and the beach wasn't steep.

"HELP! EVIL MAGIC! GUYS HELP! I yelped.

The water was swallowing me whole! But Chris came. Chris CAME! For me.

He yanked me out. I was no longer stuck.

"What do they want with me! First Amanda! Then ME! What next! Katie!"

I spoke to soon.

Katie was being swarmed by birds. Mocking birds. They pecked at her. Forcing her to transform. I wanted to yell, but she wouldn't hear me, wouldn't understand me. Because she and Freddy...transformed to protect themselves.
