Of course we want to know how your characters room looks.

But nobody asked for a bloody five page essay on it.

Here are a few things people feel the need to elaborate on, a bit too much:

Appearances.

Interior design.

Weapons.

Vehicles.

The exact color of someones eyes (Orbs, ugh).

Pets.

Simplicity (Because they live in a simple 20 storey mansion).

Neighbours.

That hot guy/chick.

The damn doorknob.

Et cetera.

Honestly, I don't have much to say about this, except for DON'T DO IT!!

To be completely honest, if in the beginning of a paragraph I  realize that the paragraph is gonna be a detailed description of the exact eye color of the man sitting across the MC in the bus with repeated use of metaphors and simile (which, ninety percent of the time, is a mix between green and blue), I obviously skip it.

'Cause if I actually spent time reading it, I would literally turn into the over-exaggerated skeleton in the 'still waiting for...' memes (Example in the media section).

Skeleton: True story.

My sister: True story.

MC: True story.

Random Hobgoblin: True story.

(God, I really feel stupid today.)

There really isn't much I can elaborate on this.

And you're an idiot if you think I'm gonna spend the next ten minutes of my life quoting an example, describing blue-green eyes in vivid detail.

So my advice, keep it short and simple. Focus on the plot, not on the descriptions.

Love,
A very tired still_awesome.
