I was drawn out of my dream by a cold hand touching mine. I jumped opening my eyes to find my mom sitting on my bed beside me. "They said your free to go." My mom told me while brushing her cold fingers against mine, "C'mon now we can't be late." She tucked her straight long hair behind her ear showing the big diamond earring my dad got her a month before he was deployed to Afghanistan, 3 months ago.

I then came to thinking, I now have no real male figure in my life. My Dad is going to be gone for the next 2 years, and all I can do to communicate with him is by letter! That's not good enough! My Dad never even got to meet Jack, he was always at training and to busy. And to make matters worse, I don't have anyway of communicating with Jack, and now I have to suffer through his funeral. How will I do that?"

My mom helped me out of my hospital bed and gave me a black lace dress to put on. I couldn't believe this was happening..

*Whats gonna happen at the funeral? I wonder..."
