soonyoung was once again waiting at his locker. he hoped and prayed that soyeon was going to show up and they could go out together.
he waited 5 minutes.
10 minutes.
15 minutes.
at least last time she texted him when she ditched him, he thought.
he was about to leave before the distant sound of heels running stopped him.
he turned and saw soyeon, running down the hall.
she stopped.
clearly out of breath.
"im so sorry soonyoung i-i w-was-"
"-its fine" he cut her off. he was glad she showed up.
he let her catch her breath and they walked down the halls of the school together.
"so why did you want to hang out today?" he questioned, he could feel his palms getting sweaty. he had waited so long to talk to her and he didn't want to blow it by saying something stupid.
"what do you mean? we're friends right?" she laughed, confused by soonyoung's query, they had hung out a few times at her house and she liked the friendship that was developing.
"yeah of course, it's just people like you don't really hang out with people like me" he continued, he really had no idea why soyeon wanted to be friends with him in the first place.
soonyoung is what you would call a 'loser'.
he wasn't very popular at school.
"im popular soonyoung, it doesn't mean im an asshole" she laughed, again, soonyoung's questioning manner made her laugh a lot.
she really liked hanging out with him.
however she had no idea that soonyoung was actually about to pee himself and internally wanted to hit himself for asking such stupid questions.
-
they arrived at the ice cream parlour and it was soonyoung's first time at this particular one.
soyeon had already ordered her ice cream but soonyoung was finding it hard to choose.
she recommended the double chocolate chip sundae.
he chose the double chocolate chip sundae.
at this point he liked her so much he trusted her with his entire life.
they sat down outside and enjoyed the warm weather together.
they spent a few hours, talking, laughing, and talking again.
they both really enjoyed spending time together, maybe one of them more than the other but nobody had to know that.
soyeon thought soonyoung was hilarious.
soonyoung thought soyeon was pretty, adorable, beautiful, talented, brilliant, amazing, show-stopping, spectacular, never-the-same, and totally unique.
guess what.
soonyoung really liked soyeon.
they continued to converse on their way home, and soonyoung made soyeon laugh so much she nearly dropped her ice cream.
"wait, so you really mean to tell me that chan ripped his pants in the middle of dancing"
soyeon was gone.
she was laughing so much her stomach began to hurt because she couldn't imagine her brother being such an idiot.
"yep, saw it happen with my own eyes"
soonyoung looked over to soyeon who was clenching her stomach with laughter.
he smiled
he managed to make soyeon laugh all afternoon and he couldn't be more happy with himself.
as long as soyeon is happy, im happy, he thought to himself.
soonyoung offered to walk her home and she accepted his offer. they walked down her street as the sun was going down and soonyoung watched as soyeon admired the view.
"it's so pretty" she said.
but he thought that she was prettier.
