KIITANA
I was pretty glad that I was confident enough to ask Imani to come into my dorm. It turns out that she was a pretty nice person who just so happens to consider me as her new friend now.
This was very exciting, since I've never really had one, and I don't think that I'd ever receive one any time soon-- if it weren't for her to knock on my door.
Within the time of us getting to know each other, I've learned that she's classified as a Freshman as well, yet she has enough credits to be able to be a RA, she's majoring in recording technology, and that she has a brother that goes by the name,"Ski."
I had asked her what was his real name, but that was pretty confidential, since her brother only ask that those that are close to him to only know his name. And if he grows close to you, he'd let you know himself, which I most definitely respect.
He wasn't the only one, though.
She had mentioned that his close friend is the same way with his nick name being, "X," and all. I wouldn't mind meeting them in the long run, they seem pretty interesting.
"Enough about me, what about you? Got any brothers or sisters?" Mani asked, resting on her stomach in my bed as I was sitting down in my leather desk chair.
"No, I'm the only child, but I wish I did."
"Well, if it makes up for anything, I wouldn't mind being considered your sister. Y'know, a sister from another mister kind of thing." She giggled, but I knew that she was sincere when she offered.
"Of course! You're pretty nice, and you actually want to be around me and stuff." I accepted without hesitation, smiling as bright as I could.
"Then it's settled."
With that, we've carried on the random conversations-- talking about anything and everything as if we knew each other for years. I've soon learned that I can be just as talkative like people that were considered popular during my high school years, but only if I was comfortable with whoever I want to associate with.
Her phone started to ring, motioning to me to hold on once she had read the caller I.D. I had then turned towards my desk, to briefly browse through my computer to keep myself busy from listening in on the conversation.
It didn't really take long, since she had ended the call within ten minutes tops.
"Girl, looks like me and you are going to a concert tonight!" Imani exclaimed, doing a little dance.
My eyes had widen, bewildered by what she had said.
I haven't went out before, so I'm not really sure what she expects from me when it comes to something like. I've never been to a party, let alone a concert.
Unless watching concerts on YouTube counts?
"What? You act like you've never been to a concert before." Nudging my shoulder once she stood up from the bed, but once she noticed that I was quiet, her face had dropped as she grasp onto my thoughts.
"You've never been to one have you? Are you serious?"
I sighed, rubbing my face a little with the palm of my hand before answering, "No, I haven't."
Suddenly, there was a grip on both of my wrists, pulling me up from the chair anxiously by an ecstatic Imani.
"That's good! Your first concert will be one you'll never forget, trust me."
"Alright, I believe in you." I grinned slightly, nodding my head as well.
In the long span of time; six hours to be exact, Imani had gotten herself dressed up before fixing up my hair, and dishing me out some clothes to wear. When she had realized that it was my real hair, she had insisted on doing it, and of course I didn't mind. Now, as for the outfit, never in a million years would I have thought I'd wear something like this.
The pants were a lot tighter than what I was used to, plus the shirt was very, very fitted and dangerously revealing my cleavage. But, Mani had told me that I was overreacting, and I just need to branch out when it comes to fashion. Even I don't understand what she mean by that.
What's wrong with sweats?
Anyway, when she had finally let me see myself in the mirror, I gasped at my reflection immediately.
I look.. beautiful..
Well, at least I think I do.
The girl that I see in front of me is a visual of how my confidence on the inside should look like.
Remarkable.
I didn't know that I fell into deep thought, until Imani had cleared her throat to get my attention, turning around to face her as I suppressed my excitement. Soon enough, I tugged her into a hug, a sigh of relief was given as she relaxed.
"Thank you, so much." I spoke softly, slowly drifting from the hug to take a look at her face.
"Anytime." She replied, shrugging a little to indicate that she didn't mind doing the huge favor.
"Now, let's get going."
About an hour later, we had both made it to the venue safely. Imani had told me that it was a Member's Only concert, and that her brother and X were rappers-- along with the rest of the crew.
I was pretty excited to see them just as much as she was, and judging by how she was describing their music, I'm sure that I'll be hooked in no time.
Mani had mentioned that we were able to go through the back way, since she was Ski's sister, so I was pretty glad we had some perks-- well, she had some.
And that's exactly what we did, making our way over to the back casually.
I saw that there was a line near the front entrance, and I was pretty amazed by the people that were coming to see them. But, that was just on the outside, I can only imagine how everything will be once I get inside.
And I'm sure, I won't be disappointed.

Time for the concert, ayyye! Haha, so far so good am I right? As always, if there's any grammar or punctual mistakes presented, it will definitely get fixed. Other than that, I hope you're enjoying the story just as much as I am writing it.
Thanks for reading.
