Storybrooke:
14 years ago~Everyone was still rambling over the process on how the curse could be broken.
"I guess," Killian started, "all we can do is wait."
"And while we are waiting," commented Regina, "for however long this curse is, we should make the most of it, you know, while we can."
Snow thought for a moment, "Regina's right, we should relax. The last thing this town needs is more stress upon their shoulders."
They all agreed.
As the group started walking back to civilization outside the dense wood, a faint rumbling sound could be heard.
"Uh," Henry stopped in his tracks, "you guys heard that, right?"
Snow turned back to the well, and hesitantly walked up to the stone brim.
"I don't think that too safe, Snow," David warned.
All of the sudden, the rumbling grew louder, and smoke started to flow over the sides.
"Snow! Get away from there!" David yelled with urgency.
Then, everyone could feel it. It was like some sort of magnetic pull was pulling Snow to the well.
"David!" She screamed as she was being dragged to the well.
David ran to save her. Big gusts of wind were rolling through the trees, making them bend to wondrous shapes.
David grabbed Snow's arm, but couldn't hold on for much longer. Her calves were already halfway down.
Robin rushed over, and Killian did the same.
"We got you, mate," Robin encouraged David.
No. It wasn't enough. The winds, the pull. No one could hold Snow back.
As the strength drained from the three men, David still held on.
"I'm not losing you, not again. I've had too many days, too many years, not spent with you. I'm not letting......" He grunted and he was losing his grip, "go."
Snow was crying, "David, don't worry. Just let go..." She was losing her energy too.
David had tears in his eyes. Emma ran over to her mom, but the force from the well sent Emma rocketing back.
"Snow....." David managed to muffle through his tears.
"David, just let go...."
There was a moment of silence, as the wind howled through the trees.
At last, David began to loosen his grip, and spoke his last words, "Snow, I will always find you."
"I know."
Everything was in slow motion. David let go of Snow's hand, Emma ran up to the well. Robin went to comfort David, and Killian rushed over to Emma, who was at the side of the well, tears streaming down her cheeks, screaming for her mom.
"No." David said, "No." He turned to the group.
"What, Dad?" Emma asked wiping away her tears.
"Emma, Killian, everyone." His eyes were red from crying, "I've fought to many times for Snow to lose her to a spunky teenager."
"Dad, no," Emma pleaded, "You can't go after her!"
"Who knows what will happen to you!" Regina said.
There was a silence. Then Killian spoke up.
"Go, mate," he looked into David's eyes, "I understand. If Emma was pulled into that portal, the first thing I would do would be to go after her, no matter the consequences."
David nodded, and walked up and hugged Killian, then turned around and headed to the well.
"Dad, wait!"
David turned around to Emma charging at him, and she threw herself into his arms.
"Goodbye," she whispered.
"Don't worry, Emma. You will always find us. It's what you were born to do."
And with that he took one last look at Storybrooke. The forest, where him and Snow met during the first curse. The clock tower, the town. And his family. Emma was against Killian, Regina with Robin, and Henry was standing in between both couples.
David nodded, and with one leap, dove into the well.
Emma turned into Killian. She couldn't watch.
As soon as David dissapeared, the smoke was gone, and the area was back to normal. No wind, no pull, no smoke.
No David or Snow.
"What is going to happen to them?" Asked Henry.
Regina answered, "Well, they do have a youth curse upon their shoulders. I don't think their age should affect them."
"But where do you think they went?" Henry continued.
"The Enchanted Forest," said Robin, half certain, half curious.
"Well, since we have the curse too, can't we just go in after them?" Asked Killian.
"We should be able to," Regina said.
"No, we can't! My dad said to stay here. We have to wait for our kids to come back. To find us. They may not be saviors, but I know they will come for us." Emma said, "the curse will be broken."
They all agreed. The group slowly walked out of the forest. First Robin and Regina, then Henry.
Emma stayed for a while, looking down the well.
"Like I said, Emma," Killian put his arm around her, "all we can do is wait."
And that is exactly what the people of Storybrooke did. For fourteen years. Everyday life still went on, but everything was just a bit off.
Until the Forgotten Few came along.
Then, everything changed.
