Chapter 1
I couldn't stand being in this house any longer. My annoying parents always expecting too much from me. My stupid sister always acting like a saint. She always has to do things ten times better than me, which makes me look stupid in comparison to her.
I'm 17 and she's 27, how can my parents compare us? I'm from a whole different generation.. I took my pen and my books and started to do some homework to keep my mind off of everything.
'Can I come in?'
I turned and saw my mother stand in my doorway. She crossed her arms and walked in.
'What?' I asked and turned my back continuing my homework.
'Maybe you should take Linda as an example, she's mature and deals with these situations a lot better than you do' my mother pointed out.
She must be kidding right. Here we go again. Miss perfect, Linda..
'Maybe you and dad need to stop comparing me to Linda'
'Haley, at least Linda doesn't skip class to miss an important test and then lies to us about it' my mom sounded disappointed and left my room.
They have no right to tell me I can't skip class for one important test. I have been working hard all year. I didn't have much time studying after a whole week of tennis practice. I'm not a multi-tasker. I can't do multiple things at once. My parents want me to have a sport on my college application so I can't just cancel that.
I walked to the mirror and removed my hairclip. I freed my hair and tied it in a ponytail. I had to go sleep after this exhausting day of arguing and loosing. I hate to lose. I'm too competitive.

The next morning I got dressed for school and immediately went out the door. I couldn't cope seeing my sister at the dinner table telling me how amazing she is.
My friends were waiting for me in the hallway. 'Hey girls' I smiled. Of course they could see the annoyed look on my face.
'Is your sister being miss perfect again?' My friend Amy asked.
'Yeah kind of' I answered. We walked into class and sat down at our usual spots.
I grabbed my books and placed my bag on the ground.
'It doesn't matter Haley! Just focus on the next test so you can impress your parents' Melanie, my other friend, motivated me.
I gave Melanie my most convincing smile 'Thanks Mel'
The teacher walked in so we had to be quiet and listen to him rambling on about boring literature.

When I got home I threw my bag on the floor and walked into the living room. I looked around and saw my sister and some guy sitting on the couch both looking at me.
'Tough day at school Haley?' my sister Linda asked with a huge smile on her face.
Oh how I would love to remove that giant ass smile off of her face.
'Whatever' I replied looking over to the random guy sitting next to my sister. He was wearing a green shirt with light brown trousers and white Nikes.
'Oh I'm sorry, this is Josh' Linda introduced him.
He stood up from where he was sitting and shook my hand 'Nice to meet you Haley' he smiled.
'Yeah same' I was confused as to what this guy was doing in our home.
