As the company were talking amongst themselves, Bofur stood up and placed a bit of stew into two bowls. "It's taking him forever." Bilbo hissed quietly.
"For who?" Bofur asked.
"For Gandalf." Bilbo replied.
"Ah, don't worry about it, here." he handed Bilbo two bowls. "Take these to the lads," Tala felt something off when she saw Bilbo walk away. She narrowed her eyes, watching him go over to where Fili and Kili were.
However, she was distracted when Balin began another interesting story. She listened in curiosity, but she still felt a nagging sensation in her stomach.
Deciding it would be best to see what was going on, the fairy excused herself and wandered over in the direction Bilbo had walked off too. When she did, she found the two brothers eating the stew Bilbo brought over to them. However, there was something wrong. "Where's Bilbo?" Tala asked.
The two looked up at her, and then shared a glance. "Uh, we don't know, he said he wanted to wander off for a bit." Kili said.
"Yeah, said he wanted to be alone for a while, maybe we're just too much for him to handle." Fili agreed. However, Tala was no fool, as she placed her hands on her hips and stared the two trouble makers down.
"Are you going to tell me the truth, or will I have to find out myself?" she asked. "Because if I have to find out myself, then I'll make sure that you two will be the ones to blame if that Hobbit gets hurt." She hissed.
While she wasn't all that intimidating, the two brother's gulped in fear. "Mountain trolls have taken a few ponies, and we sent Bilbo off to get them back." Kili said. Tala sighed, and then dropped her hands from her waist.
"Go get him then, because if he has been harmed, I will personally cut off each of your fingers one by one." she threatened with a low tone. "Remember, I know where you sleep, and I know how you get your food." she said again when the two hesitated.
Finally, the brothers agreed and ran off to go and help Bilbo. Meanwhile, Tala went back to the rest of the company. Now that she was done threatening the brothers, she began to let her worry show, her hair glowing in a dull purple. "What is it, lass?" Balin asked when he saw her.
"Fili and Kili found mountain trolls, they've got a few ponies and Bilbo." she said. All of them stood up in an instant, grabbing their weapons and went off to where they saw a fire being lit. This was not going to end well.
When the dwarves arrived to the scene, they saw three very large trolls there. They began fighting, doing their best to kill the beasts. While the dwarves fought, Tala remained in the shadows, climbing a tree silently. She would be of no use to them in a fight head on. She was much too small, and her weapons would have little effect.
Not to mention, while she was stronger than an average person, she doubted she would survive a hit from one of the trolls. She reached into her back and pulled up a small stick. It didn't look like much, and was in no way threatening. However, it was no ordinary stick. She ran a hand over it, and it transformed into a fairy bow, complete with a quiver of arrows.
These arrows were special. Fairy arrows were said to be one of the most powerful and magic ridden arrows one could ever find. They were worth a lot when it came to trading, so for Tala to have a full quiver was worth a fortune. She knocked one, and tried to aim, but the dwarves and trolls were all over the place.
She couldn't get a clean shot, and she didn't want to risk hitting one of the dwarves. She had no choice but to wait as they all fought. She smiled when she saw Bilbo free the ponies, however, Tala's smile turned into a look of horror as two of the trolls grabbed him and held him by his limbs.
