Hey. The name's Annabeth. To tell you the truth, I'm not a normal kid. I'm a 12 year old kid attending a special camp, Camp Half-Blood. Half human and half what? We'll, half god. That 's right, I said god. I'm the daughter of Athena, goddess of Wisdom. So yes.
It seemed like it would be a normal day, yet I had the feeling that something unusual was going to happen. As I sat on my bunk thinking about this, my thoughts were interrupted by Malcolm, my stepbrother. "Uh, Annabeth? It's time for breakfast." he said hesitantly, seeing as I was known for whipping out my knife and holding it to people's necks when they bothered me. "Huh?" I said woozily. Then I realised that I was the only one left in the cabin. Whoops. "I must be suffering from lack of sleep." I muttered to myself.
The rest of the day passed smoothly until about lunch, when there was a commotion on the hill. When I reached the edge of the borderline, a small group had gathered. We all watched in shock as a good-looking guy with messy black hair and soft green eyes battled a monster. With a jolt, I realised that he was fighting the Minotaur. Studying that guy, I realised that he could only be another demigod. However, he didn't look like any gods in particular except... no. Impossible. He must be the son of a minor god or goddess. Being so caught up in my thoughts, I didn't realise that the Minotaur had disintegrated, and Chiron had arrived. Chiron works at camp, and I trust him a lot. Oh, and one last thing is... he's a centaur.
The guy collapsed as he stumbled past the border. He was clutching a Minotaur horn, and mumbled something impossible to make out. As Chiron and I bent over him, we realised he was close to passing out. "He's the one. He must be." I said aloud as he fainted.
