It was the middle of the night and Killian hated himself for this but he took himself from out of Adelaide's arms. He loved her, and she should have been enough. But he wanted his revenge, and now was the time to get it. He knew that Rumpelstiltskin had left Storybrooke but he didn't know where he'd gone. But he knew there was one place that he could get that information. So he went to the Mayor's house to see mother and daughter talking, he knew he had no choice but to get them to tell him where his crocodile was. He stood in the corridor waiting for the right time, hoping they would say something that he could use.

"I'm sure he's safe and as soon as Gold's done Henry will be back,"

"But not with me."

"Back?" Hook said announcing his presences to the mother and daughter, "From where? Where's Rumpelstiltskin gone?"

"I don't know, and I thought you wanted out?"

"I do, but I still want what I am owed. What Adelaide is owed – is he's left town then he's powerless, he can be killed."

"The moment either of us leave, we lose out magic... and our advantage."

"Your memories?"

"None of us were victims of the curse," Regina admits, thinking that it was safe to speak to Hook about this. As much as he wanted out he wasn't about to go spill it to Charming. "It's not about memories, it's about magic,"

"Well I don't need magic, I'll go after him alone,"

"Even if you could find him, you know Adelaide would go with you. If she went over the town line she would stop being Adelaide – she would be Addy Jones, the girl who never got over Sheriff Graham's death."

"Except I have this," Hook said holding up Adelaide's necklace, the one he had never been anywhere without since he'd lost her the first time, "You could enchant it so she wouldn't lose her memories,"

"Even if I could, do you really think she would just let you walk up to Gold and stab him in the heart with your sword?"

"Well, I prefer my hook – it makes for a more poetic ending," Killian said thinking about the reason why he'd first chosen the hook, instead of just using a fake hand. "But I can't seem to find that now."

"You're not going anywhere," Cora insisted but she didn't understand that Killian now didn't care about what she thought.

"I still deserve my vengeance,"

"You're right, you're right you do." Cora said, changing her tactic and trying to bait Killian. Killian however knew her tactics and knew that the best way to get what he wanted was to pretend that they had won him over. "And with the Dark One gone we can search for the one magical item that can actually kill him here... his dagger."

"I'm not your puppet anymore Cora,"

Killian left the home but he knew they were right, if they found the dagger then he could at very least he could kill him when he got back. He could hear Adelaide waking up from the room above him. So he moved to the kitchen so he could pretend he'd always been there. She came around the corner to see him stood almost sheepishly in the kitchen. He was shot a suspicious look as she was really confused.

"What are you doing?"

"Well I was trying to make you breakfast... however I couldn't figure out how this... contraption worked." He said grabbing the first thing towards him, holding it up.

"The kettle?"

"Yes... what exactly does it do?" Killian asked keeping up the act however Adelaide burst out laughing. She couldn't believe how much Killian still didn't know about the world they now lived it. Killian smiled, he'd missed her laugh. "Love, what is it? What's so funny?"
