The real Killian had taken Adelaide with him to Granny's that night, he wanted to go on a date like Henry had told him people did that night. Adelaide however had been distracted by Gold and 'Lacey' who were also at dinner in the restaurant. What disturbed her the most was how much Gold had tried to change for Belle but now Lacey was just making him the man he used to be. Killian eventually got the idea that she didn't want to be there so he bribed Ruby to give them desert to go so they could eat that on the Jolly Roger. They headed back to the Jolly Roger just as Tamara and Greg gave Doppelganger Hook a telescope. He spotted both Gold and Lacey as well as what he saw as his wife with the other him. He didn't know what enraged him more. Seeing Gold still alive, or seeing his wife in another man's arms.

Adelaide walked into town, she was looking for Henry because Emma and David were both busy so they asked her to keep an eye out for him. She rounded the corner to see Henry talking to Regina, before she then waved her hand over his face. Adelaide knew it was magic, but she didn't know of what kind. She then continued to walk towards them, pretending that she didn't see anything. However, before she could reach them Hook came up to her and kissed her, so quickly and so passionately. She was just so confused as to why he would kiss her so passionately, so unexpectedly. He then however ran off. She wanted to shout after him, but she knew it would do no good so she didn't, she left him to it and turned back to walk towards Henry.

"Hey Henry, Regina. You ready to go?"

"Yeah sure," Henry said, before he turned to say goodbye to Regina. She knew that something wasn't right with this. "Bye Mom,"

"Regina, is everything okay?"

"Of course, why wouldn't it be?"

"You just... don't seem yourself. And just to let you know, Henry isn't the only who sees the good in you. So please, don't disappoint us, I know that there is good in you – you just need to give yourself another chance." Adelaide said before she turned around and walked away with Henry.

Hook then walked into Regina's office. Regina had to admit she was shocked to see the pirate, after all – she'd heard that Killian and Adelaide were doing well. That they were happy. To see him coming to her for help seemed like such a strange idea.

"Captain? For a man who had been reunited with his wife you look like you're having a rough time." Regina said, feigning niceties.

"Indeed I have, but you see I have come to ask you for your protection."

"From Gold? I'd have thought that Adelaide would have been all the protection you'd need."

"Well that would be so if I were the real Killian," Hook's doppelganger said, Regina then realised that she wasn't talking to the real Killian just Hook. "That man Greg Mendell - the one who hit me, or the other me, on the night that he shot Belle. Well he's in league with some woman, she abducted me in New York, after Adelaide and her me locked me in some sort of prison. She then dragged me back to Mendell. They want me to make an alliance with you and then betray you, that's why they let me go. Well I say that you and I make an alliance and we'll skip the unpleasant betrayal business."

"Why should I trust you?"

"The other me took up with your mother for a reason, she gets things done. And you want to protect Adelaide, I may not be Killian but I do care for her." Hook said so convincingly that Regina believed he actually wanted her help. "Perhaps the three of us could re-establish in our alliance."

"My mother died,"

"That is sad news indeed, I'm sorry she will be missed. But I tell you this Regina, I knew her well enough to know what she wanted most in the world was to see you win. Now that I have failed in both my revenge and my love, the best tribute I could give her is to help you with yours," Hook said, playing the only card he actually knew would work.
