Chapter 13

I have finally arrived at my house with a cheerful smile, because I was satisfied with the work Yoongi and I did.

"Mom, I'm home~!" I said, taking my shoes off in front of the door. As I entered the house, I saw my mom lying on the couch. She was really focused on watching the drama on the television and so I chuckled about the fact that she's addicted to drama shows.

"Oh, you're early today." She said as she heard me walking inside the living room with her eyes on the TV screen.

"My boss told me that I can go home for today, because I did a great work." I secretly grinned while walking to the kitchen to grab some water.

"Do you want something to eat?" She asked me, her eyes still fixed on the drama.

"Nope. I'm not yet hungry." I responded before drinking my glass of water. Afterwards, I walked towards my room, thinking about what I should do for the rest of the day.

Ah! I should update something for my readers! It's also been a while since I started working.

I changed myself into some comfortable clothes of mine and then opened my laptop. I was already writing--or typing rather--a new chapter for my story and left my readers a note, apologizing to them because it took a lot of time for me to update. I also added that I've been busy because I already got a job, for real.

After updating my story for my readers, I didn't know what to do anymore. I lay down on my bed, staring at the ceiling. I was thinking of ways to do something productive but then I just realized, why would I need to do something 'productive'?

Since I don't really have anything to do, my eyes just suddenly got drowsy. And so I'm off to dreamland again.

My mom gently woke me up, saying that dinner is ready. I looked at my bedroom window and it was almost getting dark now. 'Wow, I slept for that long?' I thought. I then slowly got up and lazily walked towards the dining room, and there I saw heaven right in front of me.

Different kinds of food were properly placed on the table and it felt like the whole table was shining so brightly. I quickly sat on one of the chairs and I was about to dig in like a hungry predator, but my mom slapped my hand down.

"Wait 'til the visitor arrives, honey." She said, taking off her apron.

"Visitor?" I asked in confusion. I never knew we had a visitor today.

"Yes. A visitor. So clean your face and fix your hair, Ellise. You look like a mad hyena right now." She harshly said, smirking. I pretended as if I was hurt, putting my hands on my chest like I've been stabbed by her words.

I walked towards the bathroom and started washing my face, also tying my hair neatly. As I exited the bathroom, the doorbell suddenly rung.

"Our visitor is here!" Mom happily cheered. I just lazily followed her towards the door. As soon as she opened the door, we both saw two figures. One woman who looks like she's around my mom's age and a guy with such shocking shoulders.

"Oh Hello, come in~" Mom greeted the visitors with a sweet tone in her voice. "I prepared lots of food for our dinner tonight." She added, guiding them towards the dining room.

'Aurgh~ the food is getting cold.' I mentally told myself because they are taking so long, too long.

After the woman and my mom were talking while walking to the dining room, Mom suddenly introduced me. "This is my daughter, Ellise." She smiled.

"Good evening, Ellise! Good to see you! I'm Mrs. Kim by the way." The woman introduced herself and shook hands with me. I then smiled at her. "So where does she work?" She asked my mother.

"She's currently working in the company where her older brother works. Her brother will be here a little while." Mom replied, right before the door suddenly opened.

"Mom, I'm home~" Wow, my mom was right.

"Oh! He's here." Mom stood up from her seat, dragging Ethan towards the dining room. "His name is Ethan." Ethan just let out an awkward smile while she introduces him to our visitors.

"Go and change your clothes then eat with us." Mom said to Ethan and then he proceeded to his room.

So seriously, when are we going to eat?

Mom and Mrs. Kim kept chit-chatting with each other until Ethan came. "Oh, I forgot to introduce my son." Mrs. Kim said. "He's my son, Jin." Jin bowed and smiled. "He always helps me at home whenever he has a free time, and he's also working in a big company." She added.

"Oh~ which company does he work for?" My mom asked.

"MYG." Ms. Kim replied. Ethan and I look at each other, shocked.

"Oh really? Ethan and Ellise also work for them." Mom said to them.

"Well, I guess they can go to work together now!" Mrs. Kim cheered.

"That's a great idea then." She smiled. "So shall we eat now?" My mom asked.

AT LAST!

I started digging in the food, but my mom gave me a signal that I should have my etiquette in eating. I then straightened my back, trying to look good to the visitors.

How can I even enjoy my food like this?
