Chapter 14

I successfully finished my food without making any bad impressions towards the visitors, but I didn't enjoy the food because first, the food's already cold as a result of their long chat; second, I couldn't eat how I would usually eat. *sob sob* Now mom wants me to do the dishes. -_-

After I finished washing the dishes, I was about to go to my room but my mom stopped me as she placed her hand on my shoulder. "Ellise, can you give us a glass of water?" My mom requested. Aurghh.

I was about to go to the kitchen but the Jin guy suddenly spoke, "I'll get it." He volunteered as he stood up from his seat.

I whispered to him once he was walking to the kitchen and also near to the spot where I was standing. "You know where to get it right?"

"Go with him, Ellise." I saw Mom glancing towards my direction. Oh shit, I got caught. I was planning to let him get it instead.

I just let out a sigh and guided him inside the kitchen. I pulled out three glasses from the cabinet and placed it on the counter.

"What time are you going to work tomorrow? Together with your brother, I mean." Jin asked, pouring water in the glasses.

"7:30." I simply replied to him, leaning on the kitchen counter.

"Can I go with the both of you?" He asked again.

"Uhmm, I think so?" I answered though still uncertain. He finished pouring water to the glasses and then I took the two of them.

"Let me hold the other glass." He insisted.

"No, it's okay. It's not that heavy. And besides, my mom might scold me if I give you more work than I have to do." I reassured him.

I walked towards the two mothers and placed the two glasses of water on the coffee table. "Thank you, sweetie." Mrs. Kim smiled. "Your daughter is so nice." She added, and I let out a shy grin.

After handing them their water, I walked towards my room. I lay down on my bed and played 4 pics 1 word on my phone. I then got bored and I went to Ethan's room instead, only to see him with tons of paper work on his desk.

"Oh, you're busy." I snorted, slowly coming inside the room and closed the door.

"What do you want?" He asked with his eyes still glued on the paper works.

"Can I play with your Xbox?"

"Why?"

"I'm bored." I let out a small smile, and secretly praying that he would allow me to. "Please~" I pleaded.

"Alright. Just don't make any noises while playing." He placed a set of staple wire to his stapler.

"Yes!" I cheered and I ran towards his TV and game controller.

I know that this is crazy but yes, he has his own television inside his room. Also game consoles that mom bought for him. Basically it was because he was really hardworking, while you'll see me at that time with my eyes glued on the bright screen of my laptop.

I was busy playing Street Fighter until someone knocked on the door.

"Come in." Ethan said.

The person opened the door and it turned out to be Jin. "Uhmm... You're mother said that I should play with you guys with your Xbox while they're still talking." Jin awkwardly said while scratched the back of his head.

"Oh, sure! You can play, but my sister here is occupying my place." Ethan said while I was busy playing.

"You can sit with her. Hey, sis. Let our new neighbor play the Xbox."

I then patted the empty space next to me while I was still focused in playing. He walked towards my place and sat next to me.

"So what do you want to play?" I asked him as I exited the game I was playing.

"Mario." He replied.
