Chapter 4

I turned my head to look at the wall clock; it was already half past eight in the evening.

"Well, I'll be going home now." I said to myself as I immediately stood up from my seat, fixing my things to go home.

"Who said that you can go home now?" A familiar voice said.

He entered the room and sat on the big chair in front the table.

"You still have a lot of things to do." He exclaimed.

"You need to finish all of that tonight, I'll be needing all of it by tomorrow." My Boss added.

"Tonight?!" Ellise shouted. "I can't finish all of this in just one night, are you crazy?!"

"You can if you wouldn't sleep, and don't you dare raise your voice like that to me." He said as he looked at me straight in the eyes.

"I'm sorry." I apologized as I sat on my chair to continue doing my work.

Why is this happening to me?! I shouldn't have accepted this job aurgh!

I kept glancing at the papers again and again while typing furiously on my keyboard just to finish all of this.

*ring ring*

I looked at my phone to see the caller ID.

Mom-ey

"Shit! I forgot that I only told her about me going for walk." I mumbled to myself but then it was loud enough that my boss could even hear it since it was beginning to get quiet in this building.

"Hello?" I answered the call because if I don't, she'll really kill me, 2x.

"WHERE ARE YOU RIGHT NOW??!! I THOUGHT YOU SAID THAT YOU'RE JUST GOING TO TAKE A WALK??!!" I moved the phone away from my ear as Mom shouted at the other line.

"I'm sorry! I'm going to explain it to you once I'm at home, alright? I need to finish my job right now." I told her.

"WHAT?! YOU GOT A JOB BY JUST WALKING???!!!"

"No, no! It's not like that! But I'm really going to explain once I'm there, bye!" I said as a hung up my phone.

I continued doing my work but then there were suddenly two helping hands, like literally. I looked up just to see my boss getting a pile of the paperworks from my table.

"I'm going to help you." He told me, walking towards his working desk and opened his computer.

I didn't know he has this kind of attitude.

"By the way, what's your name?" He asked as he waited for the computer to go on.

"Uhhh, I'm Ellise Robbins."

"Robbins?" He asked and I nodded in response.

Does he know my brother? Wait, of course. He just came in here earlier, you dumb human being.

Time had already passed by and at last, I'm halfway done with my work! It's now actually half past twelve in the morning.

I want to take a break, my head kinda hurts now.

"Hey do you want some coffee?" He asked me and I nodded quickly in response.

"Then go get one for yourself." He replied as he continued to do his work.

"Okay..? I'll be back." I said as I stood up from my seat, definitely annoyed because of his jerky attitude. I started walking towards the coffee maker.
