Carls P.O.V.

She fell asleep almost instantly after i set her down on her bed. I held her in my arms and it was the nicest feeling in the world, and I never thought that in this new world I would ever feel this way again. But here I was with her. I tried pacing my breath to keep time with hers. I want to sleep, I want the chance of sleeping next to her but for now I just lay, the thought of what ive done keeping me up.

After who knows how long there was a faint tapping on arlos cell door. I grumbled under my breath before slowly unwrapping myself from her and getting up. I pulled the curtain back to see Glenn.

"Well well" he taunted me. "obviously things worked out"

"barely" I looked down wishing and hoping on everything that this would never happen to her again.

"I get it Carl" Glenn smiled at me before starting to walk away "just checking to make sure everythings good, I'll let you get back to what you were doing now" I could almost feel a smirk in his voice. "lover boy"

I didn't really understand how to respond to that so I just shut the curtain and got back in Ari's bunk and I started rubbing circles on her arm. She soon woke up and after a long pause of silence of her and I both obviously not wanting to talk about what happened yet so I put a subject of conversation in quick.

"Tell me about your family" I asked quickly which left her a little shocked. She seemed to be thinking and it was adorable because she scrunched up her nose and it made her barely noticeable freckles stand out a bit more.

"Well I never really knew my dad because he left and my mum told me he died but my mum was amazing, She used to be beautiful. She was a street performer in New York City, a total hippie protester type... that was until her family moved her to Georgia where she met my dad and then I guess she settled" She looked so happy talking about this and I loved that she was comfortable for once. "What about your mother?"

I was a little taken back by this at first not even thinking that she would ask about Lori. Mom. Arlo could tell I was uncomfortable with this so she quickly added "wait, I'm so sorry I completely forgot Rick told me"she grabbed onto my hand which was still held on her arm from drawing circles as I tried to hold back tears.
