"No, no! Stop! You aren't listening!" shouted Min Yoongi over the piano music. The pianist in the corner stopped playing with a scowl and a sigh of patience. The student in the center of the room fell out of his turn and turned back towards his teacher, waiting for his corrections.
"How many times do I have to tell you, Jimin." Growled Yoongi, stepping forward and grabbing his arms. Jimin straightened into a preparation as Yoongi placed his arms and tilted his chin slightly. Jimin glanced at himself in the mirror, noticing it did look better. Yoongi sighed.
"See? Now it's parfait! D'accord. Once more." Yoongi said, walking back to his corner. Jimin sighed, waiting for the music to kick up again.
If someone years ago had told him Min Yoongi was going to be his teacher, he would've laughed in their face. He had met Yoongi when they were both trainees in their companies youth program. The shy, fifteen-year-old from France soon shot up in the class, placing beside Jimin. The two from then on began a sort of silent competition to see who would top the class. But that grew into a fierce friendship in the end.
Jimin and Yoongi had followed the same company into the apprentice program when they were eighteen. But Yoongi had other talents. He was soon admired by his sunbaes as an amazing choreographer so when Jimin went into the company, Yoongi joined as well, but mostly choreographed for the youth ballet.
Yoongi was born in Daegu, South Korea but moved to Bordeaux, France when he was eight months old with his mother and older brother Yoonjae. The two brothers then grew up in France, their father their only connection to Korean culture. The two were placed in ballet when they were five but Yoonjae dropped it in middle school. Yoongi stayed though, whilst his younger sister Yoonseok went into figure skating. He started showing potential at a small age, a lot of potential, and was often praised by his instructors. It was a hard decision for the Min family to make when Yoongi was offered a position in the trainee program in Seoul when he was fourteen. His brother had already gone to America for university but Yoonseok was still in elementary school. So with a burst of courage, Yoongi made the move alone with only his Korean pen-pal Hoseok waiting for him.
Yoongi then met shy little Park Jimin on orientation day. Yoongi spoke very little Korean and often found his French accent distracting. But little Jimin didn't mind. He says little, because Jimin was literally the smallest boy he's ever seen at his age. But he soon came to realize the sun burst was one of the most talented dancers he'd ever work with.
Jimin had been scouted at a school showcase in Busan and asked to audition for the trainee program. He roomed with his best friend Kim Taehyung and soon they became friends with the horse-looking boy and the French kid next door. From day one, Jimin knew he had a crush. It was one of those crushes that just hit you like a freight train and run you over. From then on, the small dancer spent hours in the studio trying to impress him.
Jimin started the tours again, focusing on his spot. He landed in a clean fourth and heard the instructor shrug.
"Not bad." He answered shortly gaining a breathy smile from the younger. They went to collect their bags afterwards, Jimin handing off his water bottle to Yoongi.
"Hey, Tae and I are planning on going out to eat tonight, wanna come?" asked Jimin, tossing Yoongi a towel. He sighed.
"I can't. I have to train this new prodigy." Grumbled Yoongi. "Fatigant."
Jimin nodded. "That's alright. Maybe next time?" Yoongi nodded.
"Of course, Jiminette." Yoongi winked and Jimin rolled his eyes at the stupid pet-name Yoongi had used. He'd tried other endings to the name but 'ette' had just fit. (say it out loud like 'gee-meen-ette' it sounds pretty lol) He pushed the strap up on his shoulders, fidgeting with his sweater and waved to his friend.
