"Don't be worried. She'll love you. And if she doesn't well who cares." I said as I opened my front door. My moms car was already pulled into my drive way so I'm sure she had found her way into my living room.

"Easier said than done Del." you muttered under you breath clearly still unsure.

It had been a month since we first went out to dinner, and sure thing really just started to heat up but why hold back our love. I learned from the past that you can't try to confine love, you just have to let it freely come and do as it pleases.

We walked in and took off our coats and shoes.  I could hear my mom and Laura talking about something. They were to peas in a pod. Most people would probably think she was my moms daughter over me at this point.

"Hey mom... Merry Christmas," I said as I walked in the room pulling my mom in for a hug, "Uh I really want you to meet someone. This is Simon."

I quickly got out of the way and you had already put your hand out to greet my mom.

"It so nice to meet you, Adele told me so much about you." you said while returning your arm back around my waist.

"Oh and Laura told me so much about you while you two vanished. Nice to meet you Simon. Now come on let's sit down." My mom said directing us toward my couch.

Of course Laura had to gossip with my mom, I'm really not surprised. The only thing that worried me was Laura's mind likes to wonder and who knows how much she told her.

You and I took the love seat across from the TV while my mom took the recliner and Laura of course had herself spread out across the other couch. I didn't want to be full on with the PDA with my mom right next to us and didn't want to say it out loud. But it was like you read my mind and we're on the same page. I leaned my head against your shoulder and your arm held me closer as your hand rested on my shoulder.

"Simon why don't you tell Penny what you do for a living." Laura said clearly trying to begin a conversation about our relationship since she was like a teenage girl when it came to this stuff.

"Oh um yea of course," you nervously answered, " I'm CEO of a charity called Drop4Drop. We try to provide clean water in areas that don't have it."

I looked up at you giving you a quick smile as my mom replied sharing how amazing and interested she was in the charity.

"Yeah Aunt Penny, that's where they met remember when me and Del went to that charity event. She told me he wasn't her type when I pointed him out. That how I knew I'd be seeing him again, she's not good at hiding it." Laura said glaring at us as my cheeks grew a shade of red. "Then she told me they were going to dinner. Only because she was interested in the charity."

"I don't get why you would hide it Adele. As far as I can tell Simon is a great guy." my mom said giving us both a reassuring smile.

After Laura decided to expose me, everything went smoother. You had lost your nerves and were chatting and laughing away with us.

Your phone then started ringing and you looked at it.

"It's Georgie trying to FaceTime me. I'm going to go up in your bedroom to talk to her I'll be right back." you whisper leaving a quick kiss on my forehead and excused yourself from the rest of the group.

"Where's he going? I really like him Adele." my mom said getting concerned that you were leaving already.

"His daughter is just calling. She's with her mom for the holiday so this is his chance to see her." I said trying to have a serious conversation with my mom. But when Laura's around that's impossible.

"He's going to her room and he doesn't need Del to show him where it is because he slept here last night. That's why she wasn't here when you got here she was driving him home to get clothes." Laura said eyeing me over and pointing to my phone.

I quickly looked at it and of course she texted me.

I won't say anymore but you're going to explain that "noise" I got to hear when I woke up this morning.

Before I could even react my mom started talking again, "Well I didn't realize how serious this was. I'm happy for you. You deserved to find a guy who is going to appreciate you." my mom said with a huge smile spread across her face.

You had then walked back in the room sitting back next to me and planting a quick kiss on my lips. We spent the rest of the day talking with my mom while playing board games and watching Christmas movies.

Eventually it was time for my mom to head home. As we walked her to the door she quickly pulled you to the side and whispered something in your ear. I was worried at first but then she pulled you in for a hug which reassured everything. She loved you.

Once my mom was gone you told me that Clary was going to bring Georgie over to your place for a hour or two so you could give her your presents and that you had to head home. I was sad to see you go but you reassured me that I would be seeing you tomorrow and pulled me for a much more passionate kiss than we shared early.

As your cab pulled up you kept me in your embrace, "I'll see ya tomorrow babe. I love you."

I knew we were just starting and I knew we both loved each other so much already. But hearing you say it confirmed my thoughts.

"I love you too." I said once again kissing you as you left.

I closed the door and of course no other than Laura was peeping her head through the stair case.

"Holy shit Del. You said it and the way he said it. You guys both really meant it. You love each other. It's really magical."

She was right, the love we had wasn't instant but it was definitely strong. We shared a special connection, and I proudly could say I was feeling the way it should feel to be truly loved for once.
