The forecast called for snow and sure enough it was right. The streets were coated with a icy layer that was keeping everyone from going out.

Normally on Christmas Eve I'd be driving to my moms house but we both decided we'd see each other in the morning after the plows came out and took care of the snow.

If she didn't live 20 minutes driving distance away I'd walk but she told me to stay indoors and not get myself sick.

So sure enough there I was alone with Laura since Daniel was in America doing business. We each had our own blanket and a cup of hot chocolate as we searched through Netflix for something we haven't already seen.

"So what's going on lately. I haven't seen much of you?" Laura said with a smirk as she skimmed through the suggested to watch movies.

"What do you mean you see me like every other day?" I said avoiding her question. I knew where this was going and honestly I don't have answers.

"You never explained to me what happened that one night. I'm assuming it was good since you've gone back now a few times. Right?"

"It's just friendly. I slept in the guess room all the way down the hall and left as soon as I got up. We've been talking about the charity and nothing else."

It wasn't true. I didn't want it to be just friends anymore. I wasn't only talking to you about your charity. But for Laura's sake I had to deny it until I knew we were both on the same page.

"Keep telling yourself that. Where is he tonight? Text him. Or I mean if you don't want to I always can."

Laura was evil. In away she always was able to blackmail you to get what she wanted. If I didn't text you that night, she would've.

I typed a brief little message assuming that you were with your daughter but praying you weren't and maybe you'd come over.

Five minutes went by and I bit at my finger nail anxiously waiting for a reply.

Relief swept over my body when I heard a ding come from my phone. Leading my finger to instantly unlock it.

Nothing. Georgie is at her grandparents house with my ex-wife. How about you?

I quickly typed back that in a way I was alone because it was just Laura here. The idea of you being alone upset me. So of course I offered you to come over if you could find a taxi in this crazy weather.

You never replied back so Laura and I ordered some Chinese food to be delivered for ourselves but I made sure just to get a little extra just in case you ever replied back.

The doorbell rang and Laura sprung up as her stomach growled. She sprinted to the door and instantly awed leading me to be extremely confused but ignored it because it was Laura. She's Crazy.

"Del hurry up get over here." she yelled from the door causing me to sigh and unwrap myself from my blanket walking to the entrance.

There you were. Standing in the snow all bundled up. You had once again one single white rose placed in your hand and a small little box that had been perfectly wrapped in a lavender colored paper in the other.

"Oh my god. Laura don't make him stand out there. Come in its freezing. How'd you even get here." I asked pulling you inside and helping you get your coat off. I kept my calm but honestly I was so excited.

"It's not to far so I figured I could walk and stop at the store on my way. Speaking of Merry Christmas." You said while handing me the items in your hand.

I pulled you in for a hug while thanking you. I could feel Laura's eyes staring at me as I looked up into your eyes. You slowly moved in and planted a soft quick kiss on my lips.

"Anytime. Whenever I get the chance to spend time with you, I'm going to." you said while releasing me from the hug and taking hold of my hand as we walked down stairs back to the couch.

Laura never really minded the whole third wheeling thing. If anything she was enjoying it. She was taking note of every little action we made so she could gossip about it after you left.

She sat on the opposite end of the couch wrapped up in her blanket as we cuddled up together in mine.

We put a Christmas movie on that I'm pretty sure nobody was watching. My focus was on you. We didn't really talk but every so often you'd kiss me or play with my hair. As for Laura her attention was still on us and our PDA.

"You know I didn't know we were exchanging presents. I feel bad but I'm going to be honest and say I didn't get you anything." I said with my head rested on your chest.

"There's only one thing you could've gotten me that I'd want anyways."

"And what was that?"

"Just to finally be my girlfriend." You said while looking down at me with a smirk.

"It would be my honor" I replied while quickly placing your lips back on mine but this time forgetting that Laura was a few cushions over and not breaking away.
