The Melody Maiden

Chapter 3

Hey guys! I'm really sorry for not updating, but yet again school got in the way -_- the updates will be up more often after the play I'm in is over. K, on to the story!

Hailey's P.O.V.
I blinked slowly, my eyes still adjusting to the early sunlight that streamed through the window. I looked around the unfamiliar room, slightly panicking, before I realized where I was.
Oh yeah... I spent the night at Lucy's. I looked to the right and saw Melanie out like a light. I looked at my guild mark and lightly smiled, recalling the events last night.
I think I'm gonna like it here. I checked the time, and it was a bit early, but I decided to get dressed anyway.
Maybe I'll make breakfast for Lucy. It's the least I could do for letting me spend the night. I thought. As I walked down the hallway, I heard a strange noise, and muffled voices. I readied my magic, in case it was a robber. I turned the corner and blasted whoever was there with a spell. It caused a minor explosion, and once the smoke cleared, I saw.........
"NATSU?!" Yup. He was laying on the ground, swirls in his eyes. "I'm SO sorry Natsu! I didn't know it was you!" I apologized, helping him back up. He shook his head and regained balance, then said
"No problem Hailey. I was just getting something to eat."
But isn't this Lucy's food?....Whatever.
"Well, I was just about to make breakfast. You can join us if you like." I offered.
"Aye!" Said Happy, who appeared out of nowhere. Natsu nodded, gave me a big smile, and went to flop on the couch. I giggled and rolled my eyes. I pulled out pans, and a spatula. I then got out eggs, flour, butter, ect.
I'ma make my special homemade pancakes!! I hummed a tune as I cracked the eggs in a bowl and proceeded to make breakfast. By the time I was frying bacon, Lucy had come downstairs. She seemed surprised, but eventually gave me a warm smile, which I returned. I finished up breakfast, and set it on the table.
"Chow's ready!!" I called. Everyone, (mostly Natsu and Happy) rushed to the table and sat down. Luckily, I made extra due to Natsu's extreme appetite. Through the meal they complimented my cooking, and I thanked them. After we finished, Natsu left, so I washed  the dishes, and  headed to the bathroom. Melanie and I did my morning routine, and I made sure to grab my headphones. I turned the corner to head for the door, when I bumped into Lucy.
"Oh! Lucy, I didn't see you there." I said.
"It's fine. But where are you going?" She asked.
"To the guild. Thanks for everything. I'll see you later!" I said, walking out the door. 
As I walked I let my mind wander.
I wonder if there's any guild members my age.... It'd be nice to have a friend to hang out with.
I walked into the guild and, of course, it was in utter chaos. People fighting, tables flinging across the room, and LOTS of yelling. I giggled at the sight.
Yup, I'm home. Suddenly, everyone stopped fighting, so I went to check it out. In the middle of everyone was a knocked-out Natsu and a shirtless mage. Standing In the middle of them was a scarlet-haired woman wearing armor.
"That's enough squabbling from the both of you." She said. I sweatdropped at the scene before me. I think it's best NOT to get on her bad side.
"Who are you? A new guild member?" She asked. I jumped, not expecting someone to speak to me. I looked towards the person, and it turns out it was the woman from before.
"Y-yeah! I'm Hailey. I j-joined yesterday. I-it's nice to meet you." DAMN IT! I NEED TO STOP STUTTERING!!!
Out of the blue, she slammed my head against her chest. It hurt like hell due to the armor.
"I am grateful to have a new guild member. My name is Ezra Scarlet." She said. When I was released from her grasp, I was slightly dizzy, but got over it. As she walked off, I couldn't help but smile. Now that I think about it, I've never smiled this much since.......  I shook my head, getting rid of the images.
Nows not the time for that, I need to stay positive. So I'm POSITIVE I'm going to eat cake!
I ran towards the bar and ordered a Tiramisu.
Yaaaaaaaas!!! It's been too long my love! I internally screamed as I dug in. A little after that I met the shirtless man from earlier, who I now know is Gray, along with some other guild members such as Levy, Gajeel, Juvia, and Melanie got some new friends too, like Carla and Lily. The person I was most happy to meet was Wendy. She was the same age as me, and we got along great!! I was a bit taller than her, but we still had loads of fun. Lucy and Natsu eventually came in too, and I spent the rest of the day chatting with them.

On the way back to Lucy's, the sun had already set, and the moon cast an eerie glow on the sidewalk. But this was okay, because I liked the night, it was so calm and peaceful. Little did I know, that someone else was there........

I watched the target carefully, analyzing her movements. Nothing really interesting has happened so far....she made friends with other such vermin. And did some other miserable rabble. But, I had enough data on the target for a start... it was only the first day anyhow.... until tomorrow my pet....
