Chapter Five
One week later
"Dude, pass me a soda," said Cuttek, who was sitting back in an armchair playing Call of Duty: Black Ops with Tarkus and Keegan. Antonach, who had been in his stateroom, crossed the room and tossed Cuttek a Coca-Cola from the fridge.
The squad was spending their downtime in their stateroom common room, at a fairly large base in Iraq. They had arrived roughly a week later, and had not yet been told to go on any recon missions so far. It had only been a week, but the squad was getting restless. They wanted action, because that was what they were trained for. Sure, their HQ was pretty cool, but they wanted blood. Fortunately for them, they didn't have to wait long. Their C.O. walked in, and they all scrambled to attention.
"Men, we've received intelligence that the Taliban are holding a man hostage on the east side of town. Our target's name is Al-ban Degior, and he has been kidnapped because he has helped us before. You're going in by chopper, with Cuttek flying, since he has received extensive flight lessons. I need this done quickly, with no losses on our side. Be back by 0800. Understood?"
"Sir, yes sir!" the squad responded.
