Parallel Universe

The parallel universe refers to the 'better world' talked about in the third journal that Ford comes across, so warning, there are spoilers in this chapter.

In the 'better world', Stan listens to Ford and takes the first journal to hide it. This allows Ford to reconnect with Fiddleford and ables them to defeat Bill, at the same time creating a safer way to travel between dimensions.

Of course, this applies a certain... dilemma with Bellan. Bella met Stan because Ford went through the portal, and he stayed in Gravity Falls to fix the portal. But if Stan never stayed, then how exactly do he and Bella meet?

Well, the answer was actually pretty easy for me to come up with. Easier than I thought it would be, anyway. How they meet? Bella runs into Stan as he's leaving with the journal, of course! She recognizes that he's not Ford, spots the journal in his hands, and asks about it. He ends up telling her what Ford asked him to do, and she's instantly on board with hiding it and offers to help.

Well... why not? Having someone who had known Ford for the past ten years might help him know where to hide it (or, more accurately, so that he doesn't hide it somewhere someone who might want to do something bad with it might find it). And if you're in a car with someone for multiple days, it's kinda impossible to not talk and bond.

Stan ends up moving into the house Bella and Fiddleford lived in together before they moved to Gravity Falls. Since it's not as far away as, say, across the country, they end up visiting each other every so often, and they talk over the phone a lot.

Since Stan is so nearby and sometimes up in Gravity Falls, him and Ford end up fixing stuff between them and reconnecting (especially after Stan and Bella start dating and he moves to Gravity Falls).
