"Want to help us train?" Nat poked her head inside the doorframe of Skye's room.

Skye looked up from her computer where she was FaceTiming the team. "What are you doing?"

"A cool exercise that I want to show you."

Skye looked back at her team. "Sorry guys, my computer is about to die anyway and Clint stole my cord. He said he would give it back when his tattoo came off but I'm just going to send Nat to get it," she explained. "I guess I'll talk to you all later?"

There was a chorus of 'yes' and 'bye's and Skye smiled and waved before hanging up. She closed the computer and set it down on her coffee table, turning toward Natasha. "Alright," she stood up, "lead the way."

"You've heard of Fruit Ninja, correct?" Natasha asked as she led Skye to one of the Academy's many training rooms.

"Oh no."

"Oh yes," Natasha grinned as she opened the doors.

Clint stood in the middle of the room, setting up the swords and the fruit.

"No, no, no," Skye laughed, "not happening. I would like to survive the day without losing a limb."

"Oh, come on, it's fun," Clint tried to coax her.

"No way," Skye shook her head. "Besides, I have class anyway," she said as she backed up out the door and down the hallway. She bumped into Fury as she turned the corner.

"Romanov and Barton," he said as he looked at her.

Skye pointed behind her. "That way. Did you know that they play fruit ninja?"

Fury scowled. "They're not using real bombs again, are they?"

"Wh-again?" Skye sputtered.

"Never mind," he grumbled as he walked toward the room the two assassins were training in.

Skye shook her head. "I don't even want to ask."

She walked back toward her room and when she arrived, she climbed into her training uniform. She ran a comb through her hair to get some left over glitter out of her hair and grumbled when there was still some left. Sighing, she pulled it up into a tight ponytail, praying that not too much of it was visible.

She then walked out of her room and down to the gym area for her first class of the day.

She stood next to Sarah. "Hey."

"Hey," Sarah smiled before pausing, "is that glitter in your hair?"

Skye groaned as she reached up to touch her hair. "One of my friends is a jerk and decided to put glitter on my fan."

Sarah laughed and cringed at the same time. "Ooh, fun."

"Oh yeah, it's great," Skye smiled sarcastically.

"Alright," Nick, the instructor, spoke up from the front of the room. "Before we begin, I just wanted to inform you all that Fury has just informed me of this year's leaders for the survival training." There was a murmur of excitement and Nick continued. "Leading this year's trip will be Agent Clint Barton, Agent Natasha Romanov, and Agent Grant Ward."

Skye's eyebrows rose is surprise. Ward was coming? And he didn't tell her? He was going to get an earful next time she spoke with him.

There were shrieks of excitement from the girls who idolized Romanov and chattering from the boys who were ready to prove themselves as great agents in front of the trio.

"This is going to be so much fun," Sarah clapped her hands together. "Maybe we'll finally see if the rumors that Agent Romanov and Agent Ward are dating are true," she laughed.

Skye barked out a laugh and moved her hand to cover her mouth. "I highly doubt that."

Sarah shrugged. "So do I, but a lot of girls here have bets going that Agent Romanov is dating either Agent Barton or Agent Ward. The three were all close when they were at the Academy."

"They have bets going?" Skye laughed as she took in this information.

"Oh yeah," Sarah joined in on the laughter, "the girls in this class love spreading rumors like wildfires."

"Good to know," Skye said, still smiling, though she made sure to keep that in mind next time she accidentally wore Ward's sweatshirt out of her room.

"You're a jerk."

"Hello to you too, Skye," Ward laughed from the other side of the phone. "Why am I a jerk now?"

"You didn't tell me you were leading the survival training!"

Ward groaned. "Don't remind me. I'm trying not to think about it. Besides, what if I wanted to surprise you?"

Skye sighed. "Fine, you're off the hook. What's so bad about survival training?"

"Having to constantly teach the rookies how to find shelter. I swear, everything goes in one ear and out the other."

"I take offense to that," Skye laughed. "Alright, fine, what if I promise to make it interesting for you?"

"Oh, I don't doubt that you'll make it interesting," he chuckled.

Skye scoffed. "Thanks for that. And at least now I have something fun to do."

Ward sighed, but Skye could tell he was smiling. "Oh, this is going to end up so badly, I just know it."

"Too late, it's already been decided, no take backs," she laughed.

"Wouldn't dream of it, Rookie," he sent her a fond smile even though he knew she couldn't see it. "Look, we've got a mission, nothing big, but I've got to go."

"Alright," Skye sighed, "be safe."

"Always."

With a click, Skye hung up the phone and threw it down on her, finally glitter-free, bed.

She flopped down on to the bed and starting looking up doable pranks for when she was on the trip. She had some serious planning to do.
