~~~Season 3A~~~
"Knock, knock. I'm home!" Kathryn sang as she felt the warmth of family love as she waltzed in the door.
She heard mumbling, like a girl talking. Naturally, Kathryn was confused. She dropped her 3 suitcases and a duffell bag at the door and walked into the living room. There sat her dad, and with him a woman.
"Dad.." Kathryn trailed off. John turned around to see his daughter, so much more grown up than before she left for London, standing in front of him.
"Kathryn! How was London?" He jumped from his chair and ran to hug his daughter, who was still as confused as ever.
"It was great, dad..."Kathryn trailed off, letting go of her father and looking expectantly at the woman in front of her.
"Oh, Kathryn. This is Ira, Ira this is my daughter Kathryn" John introduced his girlfriend to his daughter, always a tricky task.
"It's lovely to meet you" Ira said.
Kathryn just stared down the woman. She seemed weird, not so much in a supernatural way but more of a mean lady way.
Kathryn took a step back, looking around at the living room. No photos of her mom.
"Where are all the photos of mom?" Kathryn asked, eyeing her dad suspiciously, a hole growing in her heart.
"I packed them away, Kat" John deadpanned. At that one sentence Kathryn's heart broke. No way in hell was Kathryn going to let some woman storm into her house, her life and her dad's heart and replace her mom.
Over her dead body.
Kathryn teared up, running out the room.
She had wanted to come home as a surprise, see her dad early and Scott, Lydia, Allison and especially Stiles.
But now her dad had completely ruined her mood. She wasn't supposed to come home until Senior Year or maybe after but she couldn't stand being away from her dad and all her friends for so long, and she knew Jackson was fine by himself.
Kathryn carried her bags up to her room, struggling the whole way. She opened the door to see it bland, just how she left it. Kathryn laid her suitcases on the ground and sighed.
It was another 2 days until school started again. Allison hadn't come back from Paris, Lydia was at home pampering the pooch and Stiles and Scott were probably making out somewhere.
So Kathryn settled for someone she thought would be a whole lot more calmer. Derek and Isaac.
She took out some clothes, a black leather skirt with a dark red tank top, black flats and a black silk kimono. Kathryn straightened her hair and reapplied some of her makeup, ready for the reunions ahead of her.
Kathryn strutted out the car, keys in hand and phone in the other as she left her home. Kathryn felt like starting anew this year. Last semester had been rough, but through a pack in London and a few druids here and there Kathryn had tamed whatever power she appeared to have.
She was an elemental faerie. A fire fairy as her friends in London called her.
She had the characteristics and powers of fire.
Fire transforms what it consumes, a power which may either purify or destroy. Fire is wild and untameable, dangerous; it can burn those around it. This is true of the fire spirits too. They are intense, impatient of human ignorance; they can be intolerant of our failings, and capable of infernos of rage and intemperance.
But fire can protect. Fire surrounds Kathryn and protects her as Kathryn protects those she loves, those she would burn for.
Kathryn came up to the Hale house, walking in the forest for a while now, just breathing in the beautiful clean Beacon Hills air.
She heard a roar, not far from where she was. That would be Derek, the alpha.
Kathryn had heard about Erica and Boyd going missing, so Derek must've been out searching.
Kathryn stood awkwardly by the door of the Hale house, hearing the disappointed mumbles of Isaac and Derek, coming out of the fog in the distance. Kathryn straightened up as she saw them, looking down and upset.
She grinned, walking down the porch steps and whistling out to them. They looked up to the beautifully grown girl and froze in shock and happiness.
"Kathryn?" Isaac called out, unsure if maybe he was seeing people through the fog.
"You know it baby" Kathryn called back. Isaac and Derek smiled a little, jogging up to the girl they had grown close to.
Derek wrapped his arms around Kathryn, pulling her up into his arms and spinning around as she giggled. This was the hello she wanted.
Derek put her down, kissing her forehead before Isaac swept in and hugged her. She was definitely thankful for the friends she had. The family she had built in Beacon Hills.
Derek put his broody face back on, not wanting to be caught off guard by the girl he just so happened to have slight crush on coming back to town.
"When did you come back?" Isaac asked, pulling away from Kathryn and standing next to his alpha. Although he was starting to feel like he wanted to be part of a different pack.
"About 2 hours ago" Kathryn smiled. Derek and Isaac were shocked she wasn't with Stiles or Lydia right now.
"You've seen everyone else already?" Isaac asked again. Derek was kind of shocked by how much one girl could change in one summer. She had become so much more tanned, obviously fake though as there might as well be no sun in Britain, she also had more of a calm personality. Almost like she had accepted herself, but truth be told she had only begun to accept her true form. And was learning to control it.
"No, you guys are the first I've seen" Kathryn admitted, looking at the flabberghasted expressions on their face.
"Don't be so surprised, jackasses. I missed my little doggies" Kathryn giggled, messing up Derek's hair as he let out an involuntary chuckle.
"So. What have I missed?"
