Jesse's Point of View
"Enough!" Deborah yelled, got up and ran out of the house. I instantly got up to follow her but her mother made a noise, like she was clearing her throat, which made me stop. "If it weren't for you, little "Fire Boy" then there wouldn't be all this commotion." She said. I glared in her direction. "Me? How is all this my fault?" I questioned her as I turned my body all around to face her. "I get you don't like how we are from different packs. I get that bad things happened a long time ago when it last happened. I get it happened to you. And I'm sorry that it happened. But this is different, Mrs. Melendez."
She gave me an evil look. "How is this different?" She questioned as she stood up and walked over to me, seeming like she was ready to pounce any second. But she was interrupted by someone running into the house. I felt a hand push me aside and I realized it was Jordyn. And he didn't seem happy. "I had about enough with you." He said.
I started to stutter but I soon realized he wasn't talking to me, but to Deborah's mother. He was in her face and baring his teeth. "You're lucky you're Debbie's mother or I'd rip you to shreds! I'm not entirely happy either that she mated with someone out of the pack. But you did the same. He makes Debbie happy." He said and pointed to me. "Make sure you become more understanding of your daughter's choices. Because if you truly loved her, you would accept the fact that they love each other." He started to leave, paused, and looked at me. "Come on, Jesse. We have to go find Deborah."
I subconsciously followed him. I instantly picked up Deborah's scent and instantly turned into a wolf and followed the scent. I came up to where Deborah and I officially mated and she sat there crying. I changed back, and slowly stalked up to her. "Please don't cry." I whispered and pulled her into me. Her back slacked against my chest but the sobs were getting worse and worse.
Jordyn came up to us but stopped about 7 feet away. "Deborah... please." I whispered in her ear and lightly rocked her. "She'll never like it..." Deborah sobbed. I didn't know what to say. "Deborah.. I'm sorry." I told her. I picked her up and she instantly wrapped her arms around my neck. She eventually calmed down a bit when there was a light crunching noise behind us.
I turned my head, seeing her mother. I lightly growled and held Deborah against me. "Get away!" I snapped and bared my teeth. Her mother shook her head. "I made a mistake. I'm sorry." She said and tried to take a step closer but Jordyn stopped her. "I should have thought about Deborah and how she felt. Not how I felt. I didn't want her taken away from me. She's been my only family since my husband had passed." She sighed. "I wasn't thinking. I'm sorry."
Deborah lightly wiggled out of my arms and stood up. "Are you serious mother?" She asked. Her mother nodded. "I am. Be with Jesse." She said. Deborah smiled and ran up to her and gave her a hug. She came back to me and kissed me. "I love you." She mumbled through kisses. I smiled against her lips. "I love you too."
