A week ago..
“Kuya… sana if I’ll have a boyfriend maging kaugali mo.” I’m here with Cheyenne at the mall. Bonding time naming magkapatid para sa kanya. Nakahawak siya sa kamay ko na parang bata and smiling while we walk along the aisle.
“Hay, Chey, I’m only one sis. No one can be like me anymore.” Sabi ko sa kanya and she pouted. How cute.
She stayed pouting for that long and hindi ko napigilan na picturan siya pero she didn’t notice it.
After nun, we went to some movies and being so childish, Cheyenne picked a cartoon type. Siguro, kung ako lang manonood, mabobored ako pero kapag may kasamang kasing kulit at cute ni Cheyenne, Hinding-hindi ka mabobored at maeenjoy mo kahit ano basta kasama siya.
How I wish na I can be with her forever.
Napailing nalang ako while remembering that, bakit nga ba kailangan magkaganito?
Nakauwi na kami ng bahay and she is still holding my hands in hers hanggang makita kami nila daddy and I don’t know if she noticed it pero nakita ko na their smile turned into frown.
They welcomed us home like they usually used to and asked Cheyenne to go upstairs.
I know this time will come.
“Kean, napag-usapan na natin to.” Mom sa—or should I say, Mrs. Hayate told me. Ito na naman…
“I know Mrs. Hayate. I understand everything already and aalis na ako. I just want some time with Cheyenne before leaving and sana po ay maintindihan niyo iyon.” Sabi ko and they nodded.
“Ayaw lang naming na masyado siyang ma-attach siya sa iyo Kean. Ayaw lang naming siya masaktan.” Sabi nila and ako naman ang nag-nod."At ikaw din... ayaw ka naming masaktan." sabi pa ni Mr. Hayate at iniwan ko na sila sa Sala.
Ngayon, I’m here in the middle of nowhere. I left Cheyenne and told her a lie na it’s all for business. Napakabilis ng mga pangyayari at hindi ko alam kung bakit kailangan pa mag-kaganito. Pero things just to happen for a reason and sometimes someone needs to sacrifice.
And this time, it should be me to do it dahil hindi dapat masaktan si Cheyenne. At least, not now.
