Should I Love You?

Chapter 7

I'm standing at my locker. I reach and grab a random book.

Opal walks up. "What? You actually remembered your first period. You get a boyfriend and your a whole new person." She sighs. "You're going to leave me. I don't even know you anymore." She starts fake crying.

"I just grabbed a random book." I say. "Did I really grab the right book?"

Opal laughs. Jen walks up with Ian.

"Hey guys." Jen says.

"Hey guys." Opal says. She looks at me. "You have your English book. Why are you still staring into your locker?"

"I was daydreaming again."

Ian laughs.

I look over. "When did you guys get here?" I say.

"We just got here a few minutes ago."

"Oh. Okay cool."

I start walking to class. Ian's walking beside me talking about who knows what.

"Go to your class." I tell him.

"I don't like my class." He says. "It doesn't have you in it."

"But you distract me in my class."

"You don't even pay attention."

I roll my eyes. "I am today."

I walk in my class. I turn around and see him smiling at me at the doorway.. I wave him off. He let's out a sign and walks away

I sit down in my seat. I open my book. I feel my phone vibrate. I reach in my pocket and grab it out.

Ian: I miss you

Me: It's literally been like five seconds.

Ian: Way to long.

I smile. Putting my phone away.

At lunch I sit at my usual spot with Opal and Jen. I see Ian, Kyle and his third friend, Luke, come over to where were sitting at. They sit down.

Ian sits by me. Kyle sits in between Opal and Jen and Luke sat by Ian, across from Jen.

"So... When are you guys gonna be a thing?" I ask Opal.

Opal laughs, nervously as her cheeks atart turning red.

"Psh... What are you talking about?" Kyle says. He looks away.

"Wow. Kyle how could you not tell me you like Opal?" Ian says.

"Psh... I don't. We're friends. She's just cool."

I laugh. "Okay."

I hear my phone vibrate. I grab it out.

Mom: I'm coming to get you. I need to show you something.

I sigh.

Me: What?

Mom: You'll see. Just be ready to leave.

I put my phone away.

"Everything okay?" Ian ask.

I nod. "My mom said she's coming to get me."

I look at Opal. I shrug.

Text me she mouths.

I nod.

Soon my mom does come get me, but I wish she hadn't.

My dad was never around. Mom told me he died. I was really young when he died so I didn't know. Turns out he just left us for another family. Now me and my mom are in the hospital, staring into a room. He's sleeping right now. Im not in the room. I don't want to step foot in there.
