Ryan's P.O.V

Right from the start, I knew that this class was always gonna be a long and short class. Why? Because not only was Mrs. Syth a really excited teacher that loves to teach (and I find that very annoying especially when she calls on you when you have no clue what the hell she's talking about because she gets side-tracked easily)but it's also because Evaligne is there. So, when I look at her the class will hopefully go shorter.

Well obviously, my education was more important than a 5 year crush that I've had, but when ever it comes to her, nothing else really matters.

We've been best friends in a weird pattern actually.

Anyways, back to the story of how my friendship with Evaligne wa-

"Mr. Jackson, I would appreciate it if you would actually be paying attention to me! Actually, are you feeling okay? You look quite pale..." Mrs. Syth said to me bringing my thoughts yet again away from Evaligne.

My cheeks flushed. I felt almost as though someone had threw a flame on my face and told me to stay calm. But how in the world was I supposed to do that. And it didn't help any that everyone's eyes burned through my face. I could feel not only the embarrassment, but Mrs. Syth's eyes make a hole through my own eyes.

"I'm good Mrs. Syth," I stated with condfidence. "I was just lost in my train of thought about this lesson." I lied straight through my teeth.

"I am very glad that you are thinking about this lesson in such concentration!", Mrs. Syth said enthusiastically. Of course she believes that. She's wise but not too bright if that's not too confusing.

And with that the eyes that were burning through me were gone, but my flushed face was definitely not going to disappear any time soon.

That's when I realized that only one person's eyes were still focused on mine.

Evaligne's.

I believe that she is still my best friend. And I really hope that my belief is correct.

To test this theory out, I let out a small smile onto my lips. And with doing so, she lightly smirks back. I enjoyed seeing her smile, it was like I saw a flower bloom in two quick seconds leaving me with a beautiful sight to look at before the flower shrivels back up.

------

The bell rang giving me a chance to pack up my items and get through this day. But before I am able to get my body out of the door, I hear my name being called by a familiar voice.

"Hey, Ryan! Wait up!" shouted a very excited Evaligne.

I turned around and saw her walking up to me while throwing her arms around me and I couldn't help but to hug back spinning her around in a quick circle. That hug ended within 10 seconds because Mrs. Syth had to barge in and told us to get a move on to the next class. Thanks Mrs. Syth. Always gotta ruin the moment!

"Wow, she really doesn't believe in fun with anything but teaching does she?" Evaligne announced.

"Yeah apparently not... I bet she has 4 cats..." I coughed, making Evaligne laugh.

"That's a low estimate. She probably has about 40," Evaligne started. "but all their names are Whiskers..."

I almost choked on my laughter because she was referring to my cat from my childhood that she would make fun of. She made fun of my cat because it had exactly a white body except for its private areas. I swear that woman will never NOT make a reference to that cat.

We were laughing while walking to our second period classes.

Shit, did she have the same class as I do second? "Eva who do you have for second period?"

"Mr. Stanley...for math. I heard he's really boring, but hey, at least you get him to be done sooner." Evaligne said.

She opened her mouth to speak again, but she saw my facial expression and looked confused. "What? What's so funny to you that you have to make that face?!"

"That's what she said!" I said with a straight face.

She laughed and almost tripped. "Oh my go-" Evaligne said before stopping herself immediately when her eyes locked contact with Alex. She then turned to me, walked faster, and said,"So who do you have for second?"

Me trying to comprehend what that was all about, I said "Um, I have Mr. Stanley too actually!" I didn't want to bring up what just happened with Alex in case she doesn't want to talk about it right now.

We were both excited that we had two classes in a row. So we chatted a bit more and found out that we have first, second, fourth, fifth, lunch (thank you jesus), and sixth. The only two classes that we didn't have together was third and seventh. I was gonna do just fine with that schedule!

Turns out that this year wasn't going to suck after all.
