Chapter 41

“I had been crying and crying for weeks

How’d I survive when I could barely speak

Barely eat, on my knees, but that’s the moment

You came to me.”

“Peyton…” I said lying next to him in his bed with Gabrielle between us.

“What’s up?” he said with a pillow over his face because he was trying to sleep.

It was 11 at night and I didn’t pay the electricity bill because I didn’t have the money for the second day in a row so I came over here and he let me in but we were just talking nothing more.

“Never mind…” I said closing my eyes and sighing.

“What is it Jay?” he said, his voice deeper than usual.

“What am I supposed to do?”

“Keep it.”

“How am I gonna take care of it?”

Peyton sat up in the bed and rubbed his eyes and looked at me. It was dark in the room but there was a little lamp on so it wasn’t just blacked out.

“You said the same thing before you had her.” He said pointing at Gabby.

“So it wasn’t two of her.”

“You kept saying that all the time but you are doing way better than I thought you would because you stronger than you think you are. You need to quit letting what other people think and say dictate your life and just take care of your two kids. That needs to be your main focus. Kids, school, and work.” Peyton said looking at me.

“It’s easier said than done Peyton.” I said wiping my eyes because this situation I’m in is so scary and all I do is think about it.

“Jay you can do it so stop questioning yourself and just wait another eight months and show everybody that you can do this shit, because they waiting on you to fall and you about to let that happen so keep your baby and prove them wrong. Having a baby is not really a bad thing when you think about it, it’s just the point and time when you have it. It’s a time in life when you got to grow up and mature and handle ya business and ours just came a little earlier than most but aye I’m not complaining because I love you and Gabrielle.”
