Chapter 11: Gym Grind Begins

Reader's POV

Lillie's still sleeping, you can hear her loud breathing. You get up, dress up, take your Pokémon with you and go outside. You trained with your Bulbasaur and did your fitness exercices. After an hour, you went back inside, and still nobody there...
What time is it?
10 AM. That means Red and Blue are off to work! You went to the garden, and sat on the bench where you and Lillie sat yesterday.

You let your hand glide lower down the bench, and suddenly you come across a carving, on the bottom...
You flip the bench, and strangly, the carving just says:
Daisy
You whisper:
"Daisy? Daisy's a flower... a name perhaps?"
You hear a well known voice behind you:
"Blue's big sister is called Daisy"
You turn around:
"Goodmorning, Lillie! Slept well? And really? I didn't know!"
"I did, and I did!" She says smiling.
"But why is it carved there?"
"Many people carve something because they don't want to say it out loud."
"You mean-"
"I do mean him, yes."
"But...why?"
She laughs, still a bit tired: she just woke up:
"Why, why, why... Love, Y/n, love!"
You smile:
"Well, that's sweet!"
She nods:
"It is!"
"How did you know?"
"I read a diary here! It was Red's."
You laugh:
"And were you allowed to?"
She gives you mysterious look:
"What do you think?"
You laugh again:
"You cheeky, cheeky lady! Come, let's have breakfast!"
Breakfast was amazing and you were both in a good mood!

You were having a funny conversation:
"Yeah, it is, and-"
The doorbell rings:
"You can stay here, I'll go."
You open the door: It is Dawn, and Dawn alone.
"Goodmorning, Dawn!"
She's a bit timid:
"Hey, Y/n! ... I just wanted to say... thank you for helping me yesterday, I... I... thank you so much!"
She even gives you a hug.
Is that why Ash didn't have to come?
I'm glad Lillie doesn't see this...
It is you who end the hug, it lasted long enough in your opinion.
She clearly blushed a lot, her face is red as a tomatoe!
"That's all I wanted to say...is Lillie not here?"
"Oh yeah, she is, she's in the kitchen, having breakfast."
You shout:"LILLIE, it's Dawn!"
She comes over and Dawn talks on:
"What are you going to do today, guys?"
Lillie doesn't know either, she looks at you, and you answer:
"Well, I had an idea, I would like to take on our first Gym today! We've trained a lot recently, and Lillie and I both have type advantage! It's not going to be that hard at all."
Lillie liked the idea:
"That's a great idea! We'll leave as soon as possible! I'll get my Pokéballs!"
She runs to your room.
Dawn smiles:
"Well then, good luck! I'll be thinking of you two!"
"Thanks, and goodbye, Dawn! Give our regards to Ash!"
"Of course!"
And she's gone.
You always have your Bulbasaur with you, so you don't have much to prepare for the battle: He is your only Pokémon.
When Lillie was ready, you left to Pewter City, which was quite a journey.

*Timeskip*

You arrived at Pewter City and go to the Gym immediately, no messing around this time!
You wait in front of the door:
"Do I battle him first or do you?"
She instantly answers:
"I'll battle Brock first!"
She is fiery, that's for sure!
You watched the battle from a window. It was trilling, but very short:
Despite the fact that Lillie is a beginning trainer, she's very talented, and she crushed Brock with only Squirtle!
She leaves the Gym, and sprints towards you. She jumps in your open arms:
"Y/n, I did it! I actually did it! I can't believe it!"
"Congrats, Lillie! You absolutely smashed it!"
"Look at the badge, it's so beautiful!"
"It is! Now it's time to get mine!"
You turn around and walk towards the Gym.
"Good luck! I'll be cheering for you!"
You sigh, calm down and walk inside.
A kind voice exclaims:
"Another one? Alright, trainer, what's your name?"
"I'm Y/n."
"Well, Y/n, let's make it a big battle, yeah?"
"I'm ready, Brock!"

*Timeskip*

"C'mon Bulbasaur, use Vine Whip one more time!"
Brock shouts:
"Onix, dodge it!"
But the Onix was too tired to dodge the attack, and it fainted.
I'm sorry, Brock. But it'd be ridiculous if I'd lose to the first Gym.
Brocks nods:
"Hmmm, good battle, Y/n. You are strong, just like the previous trainer."
"You fought well, Brock. Onix too! And indeed, Lillie is strong!"
"Ah, you know her?"
He looks up and sees Lillie through the window. He waves at her, and she waves back. You laugh. Brock continues:
"Well, she's crazy strong! She has a strong bond with her Pokémon. Say hello to her from me!"
He smiles, and so do you.
"Here's your badge: it's called the Boulder Badge. You deserve it!"
You shake hands, say goodbye, and you run to Lillie.
"Y/n, congratulations! You did it as well! I'm so proud!"
She gives you a kiss on the cheek.
Of course on the cheek.
But it felt good, and your day was great.
"Yeah, I'm happy! We both gave it all! You have Brock's regards as well!"
She laughs:
"Ouh, he's so kind! Well then, let's head back to Pallet Town, shall we?"

*Timeskip*

"Oh man, I'm tired!"
Lillie looks at you:
"Yes, I'm tired too! Probably because of the intense Gym battles."
You nod:
"Yeah, probably... I-"
A well known guy sprints up to you:
"Lillie! Y/n! I smelled you guys from far away! How was it?"
It was Blue.
You answer:
"You knew?"
"Yeah, Brock called me!"
"It was pretty dope! We both won. Lillie did amazing!"
Lillie blushes, Blue looks at Lillie and
smiles:
"I expected nothing different!"
She blushes even more:
"Thank you, guys! But you did well too, Y/n!"
"I had to win that one, I'm a Champion after all. But thanks anyway, Bulbasaur did great!"
Blue keeps smiling:
"I can imagine that! What do you guys think about having a swim? I know a nice place."
"I'm down to clown, the weather is perfect for a swim. What about you, Lillie?"
She nods:
"Alright, I'm already looking forward to it!"
You put on your swimwear and go to a lake Blue knew well.

The water is cold but sooo refreshing!
Lillie looks so good in her swimsuit too...
It was hot, certainly more than 20 degrees! Lillie, Blue and you relaxed after the swimming and sunbathed.
It was nearly evening, and you went back home. There was one question you wanted to ask:
"Hey Blue, what is Red doing now?"
He laughs:
"Oh, he's cooking supper!"
You laugh too:
"I'm alright with that!"
You all arrived home, and a delicious smell fills the house: the smell of freshly made spaghetti. The supper was amazing, and everyone was cheered up and refreshed from the swimming (except Red).
You sat and laughed together 'till night, but Lillie and you were very tired, and you went to your bed.
Lying in your bed, you were thinking about the day:
"Brock told me that you had a natural talent for Pokémon battling, Lillie!"
She grins:
"Brock's just too kind..."
"I share his thought."
Everything is quiet for a few seconds:
"Y/n, I... ... that's sweet of you to say, thanks."
"Today was amazing, because it was just about you and me... I like those days, and I have to keep spending time... no, I wíll keep spending time with you alone, if you wish it or not!"
You laughed at the last part. Lillie laughed too:
"I wish it."
You smile, which she of course couldn't see:
"Perfect! Night night, Lillie."
She suddenly stood up and walked up to you:
"Do you know how happy I am with you here? Because I am! Do you know how kind and sweet you are? Because you are!"
You blushed.
Lillie, are you declaring your love now? 'Cause these are romantic words, but I can't see your face...
"That's sweet, Lillie."
She gives you another kiss on the cheek:
"Night night, Y/n."
It feels like we're already in a relationship, although we're not...
"Night night, Lillie."
Tomorrow is a new day, and who knows what it will bring us?

Sorry for the shorter chapter: I've decided to write less in one chapter, so that I can upload chapters more frequently, although exams are coming, so I won't write much the coming 2, 3 weeks. Instead of doing a QnA, I decided to just leave my 12 favourite Pokémon here, according to a site:
