Chapter 32: Reunions

Lillie's POV

"Lillie, love!"
I can hear my mum shouting as I arrive on the giant platform that is Aether Paradise, and I smile, tearing up:
"Hello, mum."
She gives me a long hug, and I knew I was safe.
"What took you so long?" She asked hesitantly.
I shrug:
"Team Rocket had us cornered, but we'll be fine. Y/n is still there."
She sighs:
"That's a pity, I'd have loved to see him again." She said, turning around to show me Wicke. I like Wicke, she's always been kind to me during bad times. Wicke makes a bow:
"Miss Lillie, I'm glad you're back home, safe and sound!"
I nod, smiling, and looking around at my home, I ask:
"Where's James at?"
She sighs:
"I know he'd love to meet you, but unfortunately, he's still on a business journey to Kanto. He'll be back soon, I hope."
Hmmm... suspicious.
"I hope so too, I really want to meet him!"
Mum snaps her fingers, and a butler I haven't seen before arrives:
"Yes, my lady?"
She smiles:
"Give the present to my dear daughter."
He nods and gives me two earrings. Mum smiles and asks:
"I hope you like them, they match the necklace I gave you!"
I put them on and blush:
"I love them!" And I really did. A pain I didn't have the necklace to see if they went great together.
Mum glances at my neck and sees I'm not wearing it:
"Where's your necklace, hun?"
My face becomes as red as a tomato:
"Um... Y/n has it."
Mum laughs:
"Why has Y/n got it?"
"Um..." I mutter, not wanting to tell mum we are in a relationship here and now.
She laughs:
"You'll have to tell me everything, at some point. Now come with me, we'll need to see that you look beautiful when James arrives."
"Why?" I ask, confused. Mum just shrugs and takes my hand, forcing me to go with her to my old room.

My room was still the same, and it was one of the only things that hadn't changed while I was away. The bed mum slept on with me once was still the same and made up perfectly, and a few photos of our little family were still hanging on the wall. The only thing that changed was my Clefairy doll. For a second I hesitated, but then I remembered I gave it to Y/n when I left Alola.
I hope he still has it, and that he's thinking of me. I know he is.
As mum was brushing my hair, she kept on talking about everything she's done while I was away. When she was done, she quickly pushed me to the dressing room while picking up her phone. I picked up some fancy clothes that made me look like a princess, but I didn't mind looking good.
I'm sure Y/n would like to see me like this.

The doorbell rang, and an odd looking businessman came inside. Mum immediately ran at him and gave him a kiss on the cheek:
"Welcome back, James! My daughter has arrived too, today!"
His eyes brightened up for a second, and I stopped staring at him from the staircase. Instead, I walked down the stairs like a real lady, and for a moment I really felt like one.

The man named James grabs my hand and gives it a kiss:
"Miss Lillie. It's a pleasure to finally see you. I've heard a lot about you."
I nod, smiling politely:
"Nice to meet you too! I've-"
I got interrupted by a snap of his fingers, and a servant I haven't seen before walks in, holding a Poké ball in a cache. He hands it over to me, saying 'here you are', and I accept it shyly:
"Um... thank you!"
Not really knowing what to say, I open the Poké Ball. It was a Vulpix, but not the one I had before. It was red. James smiles:
"And? I caught it in Kanto when I had some free time!"
I giggle:
"Awee, thank you Mr... James! You didn't have to do that for me!"
He makes a little bow:
"Call me James, please."
I smile:
"Thank you, James."
He nods, snaps his fingers again, and the servant walks away. He grabs his luggage and walks up the stairs, towards Gladion's old room. He turns around for one second, staring at me:
"We'll have dinner tonight all together, won't we?"
Lusamine nods:
"We will."
He nods and walks into Gladion's room. I immediately grab mum's arm:
"Mum, first of all, who is this new servant? And why has he taken Gladion's room?!"
Lusamine gives me a hug, stroking my hair:
"Oh darling, you've been gone for a long time, some things have changed! James insisted to have his own servants, so half of the servants and the Aether members are new. You will meet a lot of them while you're here, I'm sure! And because Gladion is never here, I thought to give James his room! I mean, why not? And otherwise he had to sleep in the attic!"
The attic...
I had some terrible memories of that attic, since I used to sit there a lot when I was younger, crying because of some things mum did or when she and Gladion used to shout at each other.
