Chapter XV

Dracula's POV

Diana's body falls on me as I break her neck. I pick her up carefully and gently take her to her room. My torso was bared and whoever looks at my back can see the scratch marks she left as I took her, my pants were hanging low and Diana was only wearing her undergarments, it didn't take a genius to realise what had happened between us. If I had had any other choice the transfusion of blood would not have happen like this, for starters it would have been on a bed and not against the wall like two savages.

But I wouldn't have changed that moment for nothing in the world, we both gave in too our true self's, I showed her my vampire side and she embraced it, even better than I thought she would. When she licked my fangs.... I lost control. I was hard on her but she took everything I gave her with open arms, or in her case with open legs, and she never complained once, in fact she almost blew out my earing with the scream she gave when she reached her climax.

Diana's transition is already in place, the bite mark on her neck was starting to heal and her complexion was turning paler. I lay her on her bed and gently remove a lock of hair from her face.

This was it now, just like she had said, tonight was the beginning of our eternal life together. I never wished for her to became a vampire but she was right. We deserve a chance to live our love and we couldn't do that with a timeline in our future, not anymore. We wanted a thousand years with each other, and we would have them, we deserve nothing else after everything we went through.

"I see the transition is already in place" I hear a voice I immediately recognise as being Renfield's.

I look at him for a second before returning to watch over my love.

"How did you know?" I ask sitting on a chair next to the bed.

"I've know you for a very long time my lord, I knew you would not be able to resist having a long life with your true love." he responded stepping further into the room

"Am I being selfish?" I ask disturbed "To consent to do this to her? To take her life?"

"From what I gathered lady Diana insisted on it" he says "What is done is done my lord, there is no turning back now, so embrace your future and be happy for the things that you have now. As you well know, the things we cherish the most have a habit of being taken from us before their time"

And with those finals words he turns to leave but before he goes he leaves me with one last advice "And my lord, next time you and lady Diana wish to...have an intimate moment I feel obligated to advise you to shut the door if you do not wish to have the entire castle listening to you two". I chuckle as I think about what people might have heard tonight, we had certainly not been careful with our voices, especially Diana with her screaming.

I think about the other thing that Renfield spoke and I feel my good mood drop. Never again, I thought. This time I will protect her, even if I have to give up my own life if needs be.

I see the first rays of sunlight appearing in the horizon, Diana will start to get sensitive to the sun as the transition progresses. I rip the closet's door and find a way to place it in front of the window in order to block the sunlight. It wasn't perfect but it will have to work for now. Contrary to what people might believe I can stay awake during the sun hours, although I prefer not to. I've grown used to sleeping during the day and staying up all night, only on rare occasions I would stay awake during the day. This one counts as one of those times.

I will stay awake and protect her as she is at her most vulnerable moment. I will protect her the way I couldn't protect her the last time but a promise I will make right here and now my love; I will make you the happiest woman on Earth for as long as we both shall live.

The transition only took a few hours, for the body was changing so it can feed of blood. What many people didn't know was that in the first 24 hours of the transition, the human could deny the transformation and refuse to drink blood. If the human doesn't ingest blood in that time frame then he would die but if blood is ingested than the transformation will be complete, and he or she will forever walk the Earth as a vampire.

For hours she lay unmoving in her bed. The sun was already high in the sky; it wouldn't take long now until she wakes up. The castle was quiet, the only voices came from The Elite and a few workers so when a loud explosion was heard and screams started erupting from within my home it caught my attention. I rouse in a second but I was torn between staying here and watch over my love or going to see what was the cause of all the panic. As much as I didn't want to I had to go with the latest, my love was asleep and this was my home. I will slaughter whoever thought that attacking my home was a good idea.

I left her room and when I spotted one of the Elite's I call out to her.

"YOU!" I call demanding her attention. She turned around quickly and her eyes startled when she noticed my presence.

"Yes my lord?" she asks with a look that told she was afraid but eager to help me.

"Your name girl?" I ask arrogantly

"Alina, my lord" she answers eagerly "How can I be of service?" she asks pushing her breasts forward, I almost laugh at her suggestion.

"There is a woman in this room, you must watch over her. If she awakes before I return than she is to stay in there, is that clear?" I command, I could tell she was not pleased but I couldn't care more.

"As you wish, my lord" she says with a smile on her face

I leave with a heavy conscience for abandoning my love but this was something that needed to be done. I will return to her side soon but first I needed to cause someone pain.
