Diana's POV
It was only after the vampire, I now know was called Renfield, brought me to my chambers that I realize how tired I actually was. I meant to try and escape as soon as I was left alone but the battle between sleep and freedom was fought and sleep had won, besides I needed all the energy I could to get as far away from here as possible.
Renfield provided me with a change of clothing but I declined. I rather keep my existing one since it was easier to travel with it, than the dresses everybody seems to put me on. With my daggers nearby I fall into a deep sleep and it didn't take long for my usual dream to come along, only this time... it was different...
"My love!" I call again reaching my arm so I could reach him
His body was still in the shadow and his identity still unrevealed yet I knew it was him. I could feel him in my very soul. He raises his arm and seeks to catch my hand. I smile when I'm almost there. I extend my arm to the fullest and in just a few seconds I feel the warmth of his hand touching mine, and all the fear I had evaporated. I was safe now.
"My princess" I hear him say "You have finally come" he pulls me closer to him so that there was no more space between us.
"My love, how I miss you so" I say content to be in his arms again. I could not see his face yet, how I wish I could see his face.
"You must wake up now my princess" he suddenly says "Danger is near you. WAKE UP!"
I wake up in panic and quickly jump out of bed with my daggers in each hand. I look around the room and see no signs of another person in here. I don't know why I was giving so much meaning to my dream but I knew I would not rest until I check every corner of this chamber.
I walk around the room quietly and focused on any sound near me that raised suspicion, I was about to lower my weapons when I feel a draft behind me and without thinking I turn around and throw one of my daggers.
The vampire yells in pain and I quickly make my way into the light so I could have a proper look at who was spying on me. I was not surprised with who I found.
"Alexandru" I say watching him removing my dagger from his shoulder and throwing it on the floor next to him. I keep my guard up, I was taught never to trust a vampire and this one I definitely didn't trust.
"I see you still live" he says with an evil smirk on his face
"It appears so" is the only thing I say. I didn't know what his intentions where but I knew they were not good "What brings you here?"
"I just came to check on my property" he says casually.
"I am no one's property, specially not yours." I respond with certainty and determination.
