Chapter XVI

Diana's POV

I wake up gasping for air. I breathe in air for a few seconds calming my breathing. I sit carefully and take in my surroundings, I was back in my room, and the person who was watching over me was not the person I expected it to be.

"Alina" I say acknowledging her "What are you doing here? Where is Dracula?" I ask trying to keep a strong posture but I felt weak and thirsty...so thirsty...

She looks at me with hate in her eyes.

"Master turned you" she says and I could practically hear the venom in her words "You are nothing but his little whore and yet he turned you" she says

"Excuse me?" I asked still adjusting with the signs of my transition, the light was hurting my eyes a little bit and I could hear the beating of her heart from where I was standing and it was making my mouth salivate.

"You heard me. You are not even a part of the Elite yet you manage to get turn in just a matter of days! I'VE BEEN HERE FOR 5 YEARS!" She yells angry "I SHOULD BE THE ONE IN TRANSITION NOT YOU!"

"Maybe you should try harder" I say and that might have been the worst thing to say at this moment.

She goes up and turn to the door. I was confused, I still didn't know what the hell was going on in here. Where was Vlad?

"You did this to yourself you know?" she says turning to me "You put some sort of spell on my lord, so in order to have him back, you're going to have to disappear." she says and then she opens the door so a young man with blond hair could enter.

"Who are you?" I ask getting out of bed. I notice I was still in my undergarments but I could not care less, I only wish I had my daggers with me. "What is the meaning of this?"

"I am Van Helsing my lady, I am a friend of Katrina" he explained "I am here to rescue you"

"You know Katrina?" I ask surprised. I felt guilty for I have not even thought about her in this last days. "Is she alright?"

"Yes, she is. But we must hurry now Diana. Our diversion will not last long" he says grabbing my hand

I was too shocked to even think about what was happening "Where are we going?" I needed to go to Vlad but I also wanted to see Katrina, at least one more time.

"Your friend Alina showed us how to get in and out of the castle" he says

"She did huh?" I say finally getting my thoughts together. This was wrong, I couldn't go. I was in transition not to mention that when Vlad realises I have disappeared then we will go mad, like really, really mad. "I can't go" I say trying to take my hand from his grip but I was too weak.

"I warned you" Alina, who had been quietly leading the way, spoke "The Master put her in some kind of spell, she thinks she wants to stay"

No... what was she doing? No... Why couldn't I resist? "NO!" I yell and with a jolt of adrenaline I rip my hand from his grip and try to run the other way, but he was stronger "VLAD! DRACULA!" I yell trying to get him to come. I didn't want to go, I didn't want to be away from him, not again...please no....

"Shit!" I hear Van Helsing curse and then I felt something hit me in the back of the head and then I fell to the ground, strengthens, on the edge of unconsciousness, the last thing I saw before I black out and was carried away in the arms of a stranger was the smug smile Alina had in her face.

When I came to my senses, I could fell the ground underneath me in constant movement, it took me only a couple of seconds to realise I was laying on a horse, the man who had taken me, Van Helsing was his name, stood next to me, he was the one riding the horse. If this had been any other day I would have fought him but the sun was still high and my body felt completely drained of energy. I knew that I needed to feed in order to complete the transition, or else I was going to die, but I didn't want to kill anybody that's why I wanted Vlad with me on my first try. That way he could help me control my hunger and prevent me from doing the worst.
