Ch.3

Octavia jumps in.

"Octavia we can't swim." Murphy says.

"But we can stand." Octavia laughs and she stands up. "Now get in."

Everyone starts undressing. I fumble with my black tank top.

"Octavia get out of the water!" Jasper yells. "Get out." He starts to run to the water.

I look over. I see something in the water. Octavia screams and goes down.

"Octavia!" I scream.

"No." Jasper says.

Everything goes quiet. We wait.  Octavia comes back up screaming.

We run over to where she is.

Finn looks like he's not gonna jump in.

"What are you doing?" Clarke asks.

"Gonna try to not get eaten." He says.

"Wait. If we distract it, it might let her go." Clarke throws a rock into the water.  It swims towards it.

Jasper runs towards Octavia.

I look over to see the monster swimming back.

"It's coming back!" I scream.

Everyone rushes towards her. They get her out just in time.

She's bleeding. Clarke wraps it.
I'm frozen still on the Boulder.

Finn runs to me.

"Are you ok?" He asks. 

I shake my head.

Clarke grabs me.

"You can't do that. Just stand there. If we're going to survive we need to be strong." She says.

"Give her a break. She's just a kid." Finn says.

"We're not kids anymore." Clarke says. She walks away.

I have tears in my eyes.

"Hey it's ok." Octavia says. She's limping. Jasper is helping her walk. "Don't let her get you down. We're on the ground. Have fun."

I smile at her. "Thank you."

"Stick with me and you'll survive." She grabs me. I'm now helping her walk.

"It'll be dark soon. We should set up camp." Clarke says. She walks back into the forest. 

I look at Octavia. She seems really cool. I like her.  Than I hear my father's voice. "Stay with Clarke."

I have to honor my father's wishes. I have to stay with Clarke.

I hand jasper Octavia. I get up and run after Clarke.

We find a clearing.  We gather fire wood.

I try to make a fire. But it doesn't work. "It work when I made one of the ark." I say trying again. I get aggravated and throw the sticks down.

"I'll teach you." I hear jasper  say
He takes the sticks."I paid attention."

"Yea right." Monty says.

They both laugh.

Octavia is the one to make a fire.

I can't get comfortable. Jasper hands me his jacket. I use it as a pillow. Soon I fall asleep.
