ch. 12

It's been 2 days since my dad left to find peace for an alliance with the grounders. 

"I have to go find him." I tell Abby.

"Its not safe. Athena he'll be back soon." She tells me.

"Or he's dead.  I know these woods. I will find him. Even if he's dead." I lower my voice. "Please Abby he's my father. "

"I'm sorry Athena. You are just a child."

"You didn't think I was a child when you sent us down here. When we were nothing but prisoners. Now you're down here you think you can control me. Sorry Abby, the ark is no more. Meaning there rules don't apply here." I look at her. "I'm leaving and you can not stop me." I walk out.

"Guards." She yells two guards come and grab me. "Take her back to her father's quarters."

"Abby please." I plead.

"Make sure she does not leave this camp." She walks away.

They take me back to my father's quarters. Axel is in there.

They close the door.

"Let me out." I scream. I bang on the door. "Damn it." I lean back.

"You ok?" Axel asks.

"Does it look like I'm ok axel?" I say rolling my eyes.

"Geez. Sorry Athena." He says. He sits on the bed.

"I'm sorry." I sit next to him. "It's just. I know my father is still alive. But Abby won't let me go look for him. Says I'm just a child."

"Maybe it's best. You can't go. I don't want to lose you.  I thought I lost you once. I'm not doing it again." He pushes a strand of hair out of my face.

I look down. Unable to look at him.

"Athena Kane. Listen to me." I look up at him. "If you really  think your father is alive than he's alive. And he'll come back."

I hug him. "Thank you. We better go get our rations before all the good stuffs gone." I get up and go out of the tent.

We are walking towards the ark when I hear my name. I turn around to see someone running towards me. It takes me a minute to realize who it is. I gasp.  It's my best friend from the ark. Jazzibell.

  I run towards her too. We connect and drop to the ground. I squeeze her tighter.

While Clarke and Wells would hang out.  Jazz and I would be together. She was also a councilwoman's  daughter. Until her mother got very sick and passed away.

We lost touch after that. She got really sad and kept to herself. I tried to help but than I got arrested and Well you know the rest.

We break the hug and get up.

"I'm so happy you made it." I tell her.

"Me?  What about you girl? Your dad was devastated, when he didn't find you at the drop ship." She notices Axel. "I'm jazzibell. But you can call me Jazzi."

"Axel.  I'm ... uh a friend of Athena." He shakes her hand.

I'm taken back. I guess we've never had the talk about what this is. So I just smile.

We all walk to get our rations.

"Hey I'll catch up with you." Axel says. "I'll see you later." He walks away.

As soon as he's far enough jazz turns to me. "So what are you guys?obviously more than friends." We continue walking.

"I mean. I don't really know. We haven't had a talk. And down here it's not that simple. We could never have a normal relationship. " We get to the tent.

"We are on the ground. Yes everything is different. But on the ground you can be who you want. "She says.

"Not with the rest of the ark here. All of the original 100. Well the 7 of us we were thrown back. Treated like kids again. After we were sent to the ground to die. But did we no. We survived and now the ark is on the ground. Because we proved we could survive it." I stand up.

"Ok Athena sit down." I listen to her. "You can't disobey the ark. They'll find your father I promise." She hugs me.

I take a deep breath and thank you. We hear commotion outside. I run outside. I see a man. Jaha.  We let him in and clean him up. He is very messed up.

He says grounders had him. And my dad. They said get out or be killed.
